"Hello sir, I am Colt Roger, are you Fiadh Hansen ?", the detective inquired as he sat there in a daze. He couldn't hear anything at this point. His entire family was missing and the house was a mess. After trying for a few more times the detective walked away, not getting a response.
"Huh?", Fiadh came back to his senses as George tapped his shoulder. "They need to ask you a few questions. I am sure they will be found but the detectives need your help", he said. Fiadh nodded and walked up to the 2 men who stood there taking notes and discussing the possibilities.
"So Mr. Hansen, do you have any guess as to who could have done something like this. Did your father or mother have any enemies?", the detectives inquired. He shook is head and replied, "My parents were good people. They lived theirs lives peacefully and bonded with everyone very well. I don't think anyone would want to harm them at least until today I didn't think so."
"Where were you when this happened?", the detective who Fiadh hasn't spoken to yet asked. "I was at a friend's house, our exams are coming up so we made a study group and we went to his place to prepare.", he replied gaining a nod from the detectives.
After a few more questions, the detectives walked into the house for one final look. They looked around the house and it seemed as though nothing had been stolen. As per the forensic team, except for the missing no one else's finger prints had been found and all the security systems had been disabled due to the blackout. Detective Roger sighed, "Whoever did this planned everything beforehand. No fingerprints, no cameras or security systems, they left no clue."
However it was strange. The culprit hadn't left any clue about him but he also didn't seem to care if people found out about the kidnapping. It was as if he wanted people to know that he had caused damage. The house was left in a mess and the message was clear. "I think we should look into the past of this family. The message clearly says that someone felt that the family wronged them and wanted revenge", Martin, the partner detective said getting a nod from Colt.
They took a final look at the house when Martin noticed the clock right above the message on the wall. He looked at his watch 11 pm. He looked up at the clock and it was almost 9:45 pm and the clock had stopped working. He rushed out of the house and went to George. "What time did you hear the child crying?", he asked him. George thought about it for a moment and said, "It was around 10.15 I guess. I had just finished my work and I stepped out for some air."
Colt rushed behind Martin, now confused by his behavior. "What happened.. Do you think there is a clue or a mistake?", he asked. Martin shook his head and ran back into the house and took the clock off the wall. There were no batteries in it. He sighed exasperated. He put the clock into the evidence bag and came out to talk to Colt.
"I think it's a message.", he said. "The neighbor heard Freya crying around 10.15 and the as per the signs of struggle the incident must have occurred at least 15 to 20 mins ago, right?", he asked Colt. "Yes I think so.. why?", he questioned. "Well I think the time of the incident is around 9.45. The culprit took out the batteries of the clock at the time he made his move. He wanted the time to stop at that moment and right below the clock he wrote the message. It has to mean something", he concluded.
Fiadh who stood there silently heard all of this. "What do you mean a message?", he now yelled out. "My family is missing, the culprit is out there doing God knows what to them and you'll are still here trying to decode some non existent message.", he cried. George patted his back and took him aside before he burst out anymore. After a few minutes Colt walked up to them. "Mr. Hansen, we understand your concern. We will do everything to find them. However we need to consider every possibility.", he said and Fiadh nodded now dejected.
"My sister, she is 7 years old. She must be hungry and she cannot sleep without her doll. Please find her", he begged in tears now. The detectives nodded and assured that all the exit points to the city had been blocked already and checking was going on for every vehicle. They assured him a little more and left, leaving Fiadh to stay with George for the night.
2 months later...
"We are now outside the house of Martin Albert, detective at the Vesturbaer Crime Control Department. A few of the neighbors heard a gun shot being fired at around 9.45 pm last night and since then the detective has been missing. There was also a message on the wall in red spray paint that said 'YOU WILL ALWAYS PAY FOR YOUR SINS.' This case seems to be similar to the kidnapping case 2 months ago and Martin was one of the detectives working on the case. Could it be a serial killing case or had Martin found something about the culprit? Whatever the answer may be one thing is clear that Vesturbaer no longer seems to be as safe as it was. This is Ida, reporting from RXI news with cameraman Roger", the reporter concluded her news.
