Magic Liberators

Well, yeah, I'm not in a good situation right now. My body and soul are connected by practically fish line, and I can do nothing about it. On top of that my soul is different from other people?

There are two explanations from this, one is that my soul mutated because of the Shift, or second, I remember stuff from the Shift because of my soul. Both make sense, so I don't know which one is the answer.

Well, I'm gonna be here for a while...

Chiron's POV:

In millennia, I haven't seen anything like what I saw at the competition my great-grandchildren snuck out to. I don't mean the incident that happened there, stuff like that happens all the time, especially in the grand scheme of things, however, the people participating there were interesting.

One's soul was special, one's body was tempered in a way I've never seen, and one had MP that I thought was a miracle. A new age of geniuses must have arrived. The soul is related to the amount of MP you can store, so that child will have a long future ahead of them, not as long as mine though.

The one with the tempered body will meet challenges that are unprecedented. Having a strong body is a blessing, but toughness can often take away one's flexibility, and I don't mean in the physical sense, there are plenty of physically strong flexible people, but when one relies on their physical strength to solve everything, one can forget there are other solutions.

The one with the special MP, their spells will be powerful, but a lot of pain is waiting for them. They will have to try harder than anyone else to control the MP inside of them.

I hope that all of them can grow and become the future of our humble country.

Jess' POV:

It's finally been a week and I'm outta the hospital. I swear, any more crazy stuff happening and I won't be able to keep track of all the schoolwork I will have to make up. It will take a while for me to catch up on all my classes.

Today's school day was pretty lame, other than my first day back, nothing special happened. I don't know why, but I feel like people were watching me, I guess this is my first time back to school in a while.

I noticed that when I use magic, the connection between my body in soul starts falling apart quicker, but also starts to slow down the disconnection in the long term. It's like training a muscle I guess, the more you use it the stronger it gets, however it will exhaust you at the beginning.

It will take a long time, even using this method, to fix the connection, I'm guessing around two years? Not too long, but definitely not short either. Well, at least it won't take as long as I thought it would.

Well, school's over now, so I better head home.

"On today's news, the Magic Liberators have struck again, this time they are attacking a school near. The reasons are unknown, and many are being held hostage."

Ugh, did I fall asleep? Ahh! I overslept! School should have already started, I'm gonna be in so much trouble! Also, what did the news just say?

That sucks, I wonder which school it is? Wait, that place looks familiar, it may be a tree on the outside, but I can recognize that place, that's my school!

Well, I never thought that I would be happy that I overslept today. Okay, in all seriousness I'm worried. How the heck are the ML getting away with this? The principal is pretty strong, and so is the magic studies teacher.

Something has to be going on. They said something about hostages. I mean they do hate the Sapients, and there are a couple of Sapients going to that school. I'm pretty sure William will be fine, because of his unnatural magical ability, but the others will have no way to defend themselves.

I mean if worst comes to worst, William can literally just slow down the time of the people around him. He literally has the power to traverse the fourth dimension, how little that power is, it is more than most.

Well, I guess I kinda have to keep up with this, I mean it is really relevant to me. I normally would be a lot more worried about this, but with all that's happened to me recently, I'm almost worried I'm becoming too good at dealing with this kinda stuff mentally.

That doesn't make what's happening any better or make me less worried or anything, I'm just not in a panicked frenzy. I mean, I have also felt a lot more laid back since the Shift, of course, my thoughts are all over the place, but it's not like I'm physically freaking out or anything.

Stop! This is not the time to be thinking about this, time to focus on the bigger deal. I can't do anything to deal with these guys. It is way beyond my skill. I may have more MP than most people, but I'm not nearly as experienced as the battle-hardened members of ML that are swarming the school.

I was able to protect the school from the magical tsunami because the guy who created it was an idiot, and I even found out later on that if I hadn't stepped in, the principal is incredibly strong and could have done something.

I don't know what to do! I mean, I can't do anything, however, how can I just leave everyone I know at the hands of terrorists? That's just stupid.

William's POV:

What the heck is going on? The principal just announced to the whole school that we should stay inside the classroom and that there are intruders in the building. Barriers covering the classroom have been activated and nothing can get in or out of here.

Apparently, the people who were in the hallways when the intrusion happened have been taken hostage by the intruders, they aren't dead yet though. This means that there is something that the intruders want.

"Hello to everyone in the school, my name is Dracul, and you are all now in my jurisdiction. From now, every ten minutes our demands aren't met, we will kill a hostage. Please bring all Sapients to us and you won't be killed.

"What do they want the Sapients for?"

"Isn't it obvious, this must be those Magic Liberators!"

"The ones that hate Sapients? I can't believe people like that still exist!"

"What are we gonna do? There isn't a lot of Sapients going to this school, but there are still a good few. If we don't turn them in the hostages will die, but if we do then chances are the Sapients will die!"

"Um, guys, I think I have an idea, does anyone here know Enhancement magic?"
