A round of darts

Once again, Hugo looked at Charlize with a gloomy expression and asked, "Charlize, are you serious?" Charlize shrugged apologetically, but the indifference between her eyebrows showed no remorse. Hugo could only roll his eyes and not waste any more words. He picked up the glass in his hand and chugged down all the beer in one go.

In fact, Hugo couldn't handle alcohol well. He easily got drunk when he drank, although his tolerance had improved after some time of training and staying away from his past weakness of addiction. But he was still relatively weak, and drinking made him sweat even more, leaving him even more powerless against alcohol. However, tonight was a night of revelry, and Hugo hadn't let loose in a whole year. So, tonight, he decided to let go and join everyone in the wild celebration, bidding farewell to 1992 in such a crazy way.

After downing the beer, Hugo turned the glass upside down on top of his head, indicating that there was no more beer inside. Everyone around started clapping and whistling, making a commotion. Hugo belched and felt his tongue getting tangled up. "Charlize, did you do that on purpose? Just a moment ago... you threw the dart so accurately, but why did you lose your aim when I made a bet with Leonardo?"

"Don't blame the girl, that's not something a gentleman would do," Leonardo, standing nearby, said, showing signs of being a little drunk himself with his flushed cheeks indicating he had also had quite a bit to drink.

Charlize glanced at Tobey, who was competing against her, and said, "Hey, guys, want to play another round? This time, we'll drink ourselves. Look, those who are drinking are already about to fall."

Hugo stood by the side, although his tongue was a bit tied up, his head was actually quite clear, and the more he drank, the clearer he became. He knew they were playing a dart game now, with four teams participating. One person threw darts while the other drank, and after each round, the three teams with the lowest scores had to drink.

Hugo and Charlize were a team, Leonardo and Tobey were another team, Joseph and Karl were a team, and the last team was Eugene and Alex. Eugene, who was responsible for drinking, didn't show any change in expression, but the sweat on his forehead and his somewhat frivolous steps revealed that he had had quite a lot to drink.

"Leo, don't underestimate Charlize just because she's a woman. Look, she thinks you can't handle it," Hugo said with a cheerful smile, his sleepy eyes brimming with contentment and uninhibited freedom.

"Who said that?" Leonardo, who hadn't drunk much, quickly caught on, and Tobey unexpectedly fought well, much better than expected. Tobey won in the previous round, leaving the other three in the dust. So, Leonardo immediately responded, "Let's continue, let's continue. This round, let's bet two drinks!"

Hugo burst into laughter, "It seems like if no one throws up here tonight, this game won't be able to end. How about this? In the next round, let's have three drinks and see who can't hold it anymore and goes to the bathroom?" Hugo cast an inquiring glance at his drinking partners.

Eugene nodded nonchalantly, "But it can't be just us drinking all the time. After this round, let's go throw darts and make them come over and drink. What do you think?"

"Great idea!" The people around cheered and continued pounding on the table, creating a festive atmosphere.

Hugo immediately became dissatisfied, "You're bullying your female compatriots. Although we treated Charlize as a man when playing darts, when it comes to drinking, each and every one of you men has twice the stomach capacity of Charlize. It's unfair." Hugo's words made everyone at the scene burst into laughter. It was not uncommon to stop someone from drinking, but to start with "stomach capacity" was just too funny.

"I have no problem with drinking, but the problem is Hugo's terrible dart skills. It's clear that he just wants to make me drink more." Charlize's complaint caused even more laughter, and the surrounding audience burst into laughter.

"If you win this round, you can make them drink a few more glasses, get everyone drunk, and increase my chances of winning, right?" Hugo shouted with a swollen tongue, which attracted protests from Alex and Karl. "Hey, Hugo, don't underestimate us." Hugo disdainfully waved his hand, despising them as if shooing away flies. "Show them some of your skills, girl! Let's go!"

Charlize looked at Hugo, whose cheeks were red, and her eyes were like two sparkling lakes. She couldn't help but laugh heartily. "Alright, let them see what I'm capable of."

"Woah!" When they heard Charlize challenging the others, the crowd erupted into cheers again, making the whole bar extremely noisy.

"Hey, Hugo, hey!" While everyone was anticipating the upcoming epic battle, someone tapped Hugo's shoulder. Although Hugo was sober in his head, his brain's reaction was a bit slow. He slowly turned his head and saw a girl with golden hair, a sweet smile on her face, and beautiful deep blue eyes, reminiscent of the Aegean Sea.

"Hey, Jennifer!" Hugo beamed a big smile, his eyes forming an arc that made people's mouth corners involuntarily curl up.

This girl named Jennifer seemed somewhat surprised and excited. She slightly opened her mouth and said in astonishment, "Do you... do you know me?"

This sentence actually left Hugo dumbfounded. Of course, he knew the girl in front of him. Although she was a bit youthful and her clothes lacked a sense of quality, with a hint of rustic charm, how could Hugo not recognize this sweet face? Jennifer Aniston, the sweetheart actress who became famous throughout the United States and even the world through "Friends", a TV show that aired for ten years. She had always been a favorite actress of Hugo's.

Jennifer Aniston reached the pinnacle of her acting career with the ten-year run of "Friends" and her highly publicized marriage to Brad Pitt. Although Jennifer Aniston didn't have box office successes that rivaled Meg Ryan's, she had earned recognition in the television industry. While she hadn't won an Academy Award like Nicole Kidman or Julia Roberts, her greatest achievement was winning an Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Comedy. However, no one could deny Jennifer's charm. She was optimistic and adorable, yet still maintained her femininity. Even after living under the spotlight for so long, she hadn't lost her sincerity and tranquility. This kind of charm was truly irresistible.

After leaving "Friends", Jennifer Aniston struggled for a long period before transitioning to the big screen. Most of her filmography consisted of comedy films, but whenever there was an opportunity, Hugo was willing to enjoy Jennifer's work. While it might not match the introspection brought by some profound films, the enjoyment of a lighthearted moment was something that other genres of movies couldn't provide.

So when Hugo saw Jennifer appear, his first reaction was naturally to blurt out, but when Jennifer countered with such a question, Hugo realized that he seemed to have let his guard down because he had drunk too much. Until now, he had "never seen" Jennifer.

"Yes, yes, of course," Hugo explained vaguely with a thick tongue. "I've heard my friend mention you."

"Alex, it must be Alex," fortunately, Jennifer immediately said, which relieved Hugo, who nodded happily. "Yes! Yes!" This made Jennifer smile brightly. "Wow, I heard Alex mention you as his good friend before, but I didn't want to believe it. Seeing you today feels like a dream."

"Oh my God, I hope my current appearance doesn't shatter your fantasies," Hugo said, laughing. After drinking too much, even though his head was clear, many of his actions were somewhat uncontrollable. It was unavoidable.

Jennifer chuckled at Hugo's words, "No, of course not. You're still as charming as ever." Jennifer looked at Hugo with a smile. "Listen, it's like this. I really like your work, and I just wanted to come and tell you that." When she heard that Hugo had appeared, Jennifer rushed downstairs from the second floor and came to Hugo in a hurry. Being able to meet Hugo was definitely the biggest gain of the evening for Jennifer. "Of course, if you can take a photo with me, or maybe give me a hug, that would... that would be even better."

"Forget about taking photos, the lighting here is not good, and I'm afraid you won't be able to see anything," Hugo said, chuckling. "But a hug, I would be more than happy. It's my honor." Hugo genuinely admired Jennifer as an actress. Even if she didn't ask, he would have wanted to hug her. Setting aside everything else, just the glorious ten years of "Friends" were enough to leave a lasting impression in his mind.

Jennifer looked at Hugo with open arms and walked up to him, hugging him tightly. Then she looked at Hugo excitedly, not knowing what to say. Cheers came from behind them, indicating that the dart game had decided the winner. Jennifer realized that she had been rude and immediately said, "Oh, you can continue, continue."

However, Hugo didn't turn his head in a hurry. He said with a smile, "I hope you don't want me to continue drinking." Then Hugo paused. "Jennifer, you... you really have charm. Believe in yourself, your opportunities will come."

Upon hearing these words, Jennifer was stunned for a moment. She also instinctively said, "If I missed this script, there will be another chance. I believe the director will regret it."

Hugo realized that the "The Firm" incident probably had already spread tonight. It was no longer a secret. However, that didn't matter. What mattered was that if Brad got the role in "The Firm" and now Jennifer was saying this, Hugo suddenly found it amusing. Of course, only Hugo, the time traveler, could appreciate the humor in it.

Hugo burst into laughter and said, "Thank you for your encouragement."

Seeing Hugo's smile, Jennifer's smile couldn't help but bloom on her lips. Then she saw Hugo turn his head and shout loudly, "Did we win?" A woman with a ponytail and a heroic bearing nodded excitedly, then rushed over, tightly embracing Hugo. The two of them jumped and celebrated with their shoulders touching. Hugo shouted loudly, "Three cups! Three cups!"

Seeing Hugo so full of energy, Jennifer's mood soared once again. She stepped lightly and rejoined the crowd, enjoying her New Year's Eve party.
