"Good morning Natalie" I greeted the nurse in charge of checking on Jamal every morning
"Good morning miss K.C" I frowned
"You can call me just K.C, we are in the same age bracket you know" I sat down and looked up at her
" Okay" she chuckled
" How is he??" I moved my gaze to his face
" His vital signs are okay" she stared at his face closely for some time
" What's wrong??" I looked at her
" Why??"
" You were staring at him for quite a while" I raised my eyebrow
" Oh that, nothing's wrong" she looked relieved
" You act like his sister" she said picking up the tray
" Oh!, Me??" I chuckled
" I should act like his sister, even though I owe him more" she nodded
She exhaled deeply, I hope it's not what I'm thinking, I smiled
" I should get going" she walked to the door
" Okay, I'll see you later" I sat on the stool by the bed and held his hand bringing it up to my face...

" Aunty Good evening" I greeted aunty Jane
" Aunty??" I touched her on the shoulder
" Hmm??" She jumped up
" I was greeting you" she sighed and rubbed her face with her hand
"What's wrong??" I sat down and picked up the TV remote
" Oh nothing just thinking that's all"
"How is Jamal??" She turned to me
" He's fine ohhh" I frowned
" Don't let the situation he's in pull you down okay??" I nodded
" Is there any food in the house??" I stood up and walked to the kitchen
" Check jhare" she stood up and walked upstairs to her bedroom
" Okay"
" You left your handbag here!" I yelled but got the sound of the door slam close as a response
I moved the bag to the parlour and walked back to the kitchen

Woke up to this sound of my alarm ringing
I picked up my phone and turned the alarm off
Oh, I looked at the clock
"I'm late for class" I ran into the bathroom and dressed up as pretty as any girl can be, putting on a plaid flay skirt and a black turtle neck with a coat on top, I might be chubby but I look good if I do say so my self...i chuckled and picked up my clear lip gloss from the table and applied it evenly...
"Aunty Jane, I'm heading to class"
" Get something to eat first" she yelled from the kitchen
" I'm already late"
" I'll be back by 5:00pm"
" Okay, see you".
" See ya, love you" I shut the door behind me and started walking down the street

"K.C" Merissa walked up to me after the class was over, and gave me a quick hug, I smiled
"Merissa"
"So I was wondering if you'd like to join us for a night out" she smiled
" A night out??"
" Yeah, just have drinks, dance a little" thinking about it I haven't had fun since Jenny died
"Okay, what time??" I sighed
"7:00pm, just come over to my place" I nodded and waved as I walked away

6:30pm
Walking down the street, airpods in my ear, pop music in my head, I was close to Merissa's house
Putting on a black net top and a pair of black trousers with knee-high boots, I rang the doorbell and she opened the door almost immediately
" Hey girl, come on in" I walked into the house and looked around
" Nice interior design" she smiled
" So is that what you're wearing??" She scanned me
" No way, come on I have something for you" she cut my sentence short
" Wow" I looked at her closet
" That's a lot of clothes" she passed me a short, purple dress that has openings at the side
" Well, put it on"
I walked out of her bathroom putting on the dress, it hugged my body so much, it's like a second skin, I adjusted it
" You look gorgeous" she smiled and passed me glass high heels with laces which reached up to my knee
" Are you okay with those??" She asked after I put it on the shoes
" Yeah, it's fine" I tried standing with it, yeah I'm okay
" Then let's go" she stood up from in front of her makeup table and picked up her bag as we walked out to her car.

" Where are you coming from??" Aunty Jane asked as I walked into the house by 12:00am
" We went for a night out"
" We??" She asked backing me sitting on the couch
" I and Merissa" I walked passed her
" And you're coming back this late??"
" You can't be staying in my house and repeat this nonsense"
" And maybe I'll move out, I have other places I can stay in"
" If you start this, it may become a habit and when you get married, it'll be a problem"
" At least I know I'd get married, what about you??!!"
" You couldn't even keep a man, and the next one you attracted was a serial killer!!"
" You shouldn't even be calling yourself a lady abi a woman!!" I sighed
I belched and and fell down before everything went dark...
