Chapter 61 - Saving Lia - Part 1

{'Live surveillance activating, target identified,'}

The system gave him an automated reply and displayed a widescreen. It zoomed into a small figure in black.

Zhu kang leaned close and peered into it. A small child was hiding inside the play area inside the slide. He was crouching low and trembling softly.

"Can you zoom in even more?"

{'Zooming in on the target,'}

Upon a closer look, he immediately knew who that was it was Lia....

'How did he even get there? Why wasn't he with us?' he wondered, worried sick. Back then when they were playing around everyone was together.

But after they all fell asleep, everything went dull.

Back then he was deep in thought and did not pay much attention to his surroundings...

'Now I remember there was a small sound of sliding in the background while I was thinking about my fate. Oh fuck... was Lia never with us in the safe room. He never followed us out. All along the kid was hiding in the slide in fear.'

'Shit... what to do?. I need to get to him.'

As he was thinking this, he noticed a small movement in the corner of the screen.

"Zoom in on that corner. Something's moving.'

The system did. It was that ice ability villain who was fighting with Aaron just a few minutes ago. He was tied up on what looked like the swing chains.

As he was doing so the man suddenly caught sight of the trembling little kid.

"oh fuck."

The man was growing towards the slide.

'He found Lia.. fuck, fuck fuck!!!!!'

Kang took a deep breath and ran out of the classroom he was hiding in. Outside both, Aaron and Altren were fighting the metal cyborg man.

"Alta! You come with me now!"

In a hurried manner, he grabbed his arms and dragged him away..

"Kang! That's dangerous. Get back here!" Aaron tried to run after them but the villain kept him on his toes with his attacks.

Gritting his teeth Aaron peered at him. 'Strength user…... His skin looks like it's made of metal.'

The metal body type of powers can be easily controlled by thunder users. Now Altren was gone, the man was out of hand. his attacks were strong and fast.

Aaron did his best to dodge.

"What is it, wuss? Scared to fight me? huh?"

That was the breaking point. Aaron let out his bright light. Like cosmos, it heated up the place, burning everything it touched.

The villain's clothes were all burned up, exposing his melted metal torso.

"it's over. give up..." panting Aaron walked close to restrain him.

"haha... hahaha.. you're funny man.. very, very funny..." The man suddenly glanced up with a wide smirk. He hurriedly took something from the ground and stabbed his own arm.

Aaron frowned. That thing looked like a syringe of some sort. It was encased in a very special glass that won't react to heat.

"Is that all a best superhero can do? I'm so disappointed..."

While he was chattering, Aaron took his chance to move close to him and started his close-range attacks.

On the other hand, Kang and Altren bolted through the hallways.

Altren slowed down a bit. "Where are we going? That villain's physic is hard to deal with! I've got to...."

"To the classroom… there… is a…" panting Kang shouted pulling at him with all his strength

Altren strongly stood his ground. "It's too dangerous to be roaming out here when you have no license! Kang!"

"I don't fucking care Altren, stop your bitching and follow me. I can't deal with that man on my own. He has ice powers!"

Altren just shook his head. "We really shouldn't do this. Let the senior heroes do it. Kang we can't..." he turned his back to him and ran back in the direction they came back.

Kang let go of him. "Fucking coward! Go fuck yourself,"

Panting loudly, Kang ran to the playground. He couldn't say if he was disappointed or raged at his rejection.

'I was fucking asking for help? What is the hero license bullcrap? Fuck that shit! Fuck these heroes....'

Now... he could partially understand his brother's hatred towards heroes..

They had many rules about who to save and who not to.

Wiping his tear stains away, he dashed into the playground. Secretly he crawled over to the slide set but the little kid was nowhere to be found.

Gritting his teeth, he shouted out loud. "Lia! Lia! Where are you?"

"What do we have here? An unknown super? Weren't you supposed to be in your safe spot?" the man in a white suit appeared behind him. in his arms was a small bundle wiggling around.

"Lia!"

"Uncle Kang... I'm scared..." the little kid cried loudly.

"Let him go.... he's just a kid, man. You.. if you want you can take me. You can hurt me.. but don't hurt him. Okay?"

The super villain just raised his brow. "huh? Why should I let him go? This one is our target, to begin with," the man suddenly slapped Lia's face hard.

The kid stopped crying in shock.

"You bastard!"
