I found her

Staring at the woman from the second story, only the wealthy of the wealthy could be there, besides the royal family. Looking out at the small balcony that looked over the ballroom, he could see her. It was like that same fever dream, she turned around wearing a light grey dress and her crystal blue eyes glowed against her tanned skin.

"Master Jameson, Ms. Adaline has arrived." The head butler said calmly to Jameson. He was an older man- with grey hairs coming in and wrinkles starting to form along his forehead and around his eyes. He wore a tuxedo, typical attire for the people that worked in the castle.

Jameson didn't turn to look at the man, only flicking a gaze because he was afraid to look away. Afraid that she might disappear like in his dreams. "All right, I'll be there in a moment." He said, finally ripping his eyes away and sighing. He was wearing a black buttoned-up shirt under a dark blue jacket and a dark tie. He also had a dark green mask, glittered with rhinestones and feathers from some magical birds. It was small, but covered most of his face.

Walking through the less crowded second floor he walked up to meet a woman. She was average height, bright blonde that looked like it was recently re-dyed, too red lipstick on, too much make-up on in general, and her mask was too much, too many feathers and glittering stones.. She wore a red dress, she looked like every other woman on that floor, too much of everything. He flashed a fake smile to her, but she gave a real one and she gave a quick curtsy.

"My Prince! I am excited to see you tonight! Everything is as extravagant as it usually is." She said her voice always sounded too short of breath. Maybe it was just some trick so that he would marry her. He didn't want that, she was too- too much. She put her hands in his and held them, hoping he would do something.

"Adaline, great to see you too. Enjoy yourself, I must be off to greet other guests." He said softly, patting her hands before letting go of them. Even Arilin didn't like her, and he was an animal, he usually liked most people that weren't too much like her.

Jameson lied. He wasn't going to greet guests. He walked into the small crowd that was on the second floor. Most people recognized him immediately, bowing their heads or complimenting him for inviting them to the ball. It was his father who really invited all these people, he would have invited much less, but since it was a ball, it was a good time to make friends, not enemies.

After hiding in the crowd for a while, he went down the stairs, going to the first floor. Standing on the last step so he could clearly see over the crowd(he was already pretty tall), he spotted her again, feeding something to her binding-partner. Arilin stopped at his heels, looking up at him.

'Is that- her? From the dreams?' Arilin asked, flicking his ears around to get the voices and music from the ball. Standing up to Jameson's abdomen, the fox could barely see over the crowd, not as well as Jameson did though. He could read some of his mind, it was showing images of the woman from the dream and the one across the ballroom.

'It has to be, I've never seen anyone like her before.' He thought back, quickly fixing his tie and running a hand through his hair before he began his march over to the woman. She was wearing simple things compared to most of the rich people, but she made them look like the gods gave it to her personally. God she was pretty. He could feel his heart race slightly when he thought that, he never usually had those thoughts before when he looked at other women.

'You're very easy to read right now Jameson. Calm down. Just ask her for a dance or something. Look at her, she can't be that bad right?' Arilin tried to calm down Jameson, but that did little. How do you approach a walking dream? No one prepared him for that, and he was the prince that was going to rule soon. What a mess.

He cleared his throat, she didn't seem to notice him, was he not obvious enough with how people looked at him? Or his binding-partner's aura that came off of him. When she turned towards him with those eyes, he wasn't prepared at all. He might as well have been a ten-year-old boy again.
