After she had gotten back to the inn, she changed back into her black flight outfit. Sighing softly, she could only hope no one followed her. But there was no time to really think, she needed to get as far away as possible, get back home as soon as possible.Stuffing the dress, shoes and mask hastily into the box, she quickly hopped back out of the window. Her eyes flashed white for a second, seeing no heartbeats nearby except for the sleeping people in their homes, good. She could act like she had never even visited this place and leave without a trace.
Jumping back out the window, Iesurdrar was already waiting in the forest, his giant eagle figure standing behind some trees waiting for her. Once she climbed on his back, they took off quickly in the sky. Looking down, she could see the carriage Ivana came in. She guessed they shut the whole party down after they found the Prince. She felt bad about that, she never really meant to do that. But a couple seconds later she could see a small group of guards leaving the city. Where were they going? She shrugged it off and kept flying on with Iesurdrar.
It only took a couple hours to get back home, and by that time the sun was starting to rise over the mountains. Landing near the back of her home, she jumped off Iesurdrar to land on the ground. Patting the side of his head, she changed back into a mockingjay. She felt tired, she never really got tired, but after everything- she really did feel like sleeping. Walking into the house silently, she saw her mother sitting on a chair, waiting for her to come home. When she heard someone enter, she turned and looked at Cattaleya. The stout woman placed her hands on Cattaleya's cheeks, sighing softly.
"Catta, you look tired, go get some rest." The woman spoke quietly, brushing a few strains of her black wavy hair from her face.
"Yes Ma'am." She joked back to her, smiling lightly and holding her hand. They both smiled at each other before Cattaleya walked towards her room, getting changed into a baggy shirt- the softest shirt she had- and a pair of light pants. She fell asleep almost immediately when her head hit the straw pillow.
In her dream, she woke up in a different place. Turning around, she looked at the light cream colored walls and intense decorations all around. She was still wearing a shirt and pants, not her dress. She recognized the place as the Palace, but why was she back? This was the last place she wanted to be. Looking around, she pursed her lips, walking down the hall and into what looked like the ballroom, except it was empty and dim now. The only person standing there was a man with blonde hair. She tried to use her powers to see his heartbeat, but she couldn't use her powers. What was happening? Standing there, she tried to speak, but couldn't. She tried walking towards him, but every time she stepped, he stepped, keeping the distance between them the same, no matter what. She could only watch him in confusion. After a long time of just standing there, he spoke.
"Stay with me, in the castle. Not as a servant, but as a guest." He turned to look at her with his black iris. Before she could even think about speaking, she was thrown out of her dream. Sitting up in bed, she could see the sun starting to set in the distance. She slept through the whole day? Getting up, she didn't see a reason to change if she was just going to go back to bed. She went out to check on her mother, who was sitting down on a chair and fixing her dress she seemed to have ripped.
"Thanks Mama, but I can do that now." She said, startling her mother. Then she shook her head.
"No way, the last time you sewed something, it looked like you were trying to make circles, not a straight line." Her mother said to her pointedly. Cattaleya just laughed and nodded her head.
"That's true. I think I'm going to try and get more sleep. Good night Mama." Cattaleya said, turning back to her room and trying to fall back asleep. But whenever she did, it was that same dream again.
