Public De-Execution

The room went silent, no one was expecting that answer from her. There was a moment of silence, the only noise was when Cattaleya moved her hands and the chains clinked together. She scratched her head, looking around the room before leaning close to the guard.

"Did I say something?" She whispered to him, giving a genuine confused look.

'Iesurdrar did I say something bad? Was I wrong?' She thought to him. He only gave a half shrug, as much as a bird could anyway.

'You answered the question truthfully anway, I think they didn't think you knew.' He thought back. She nodded her head before looking at the King. He seemed deep in thought so she looked at the Prince, and the girl that was hanging onto him like she would die if she let go of him. She cleared her throat loudly for everyone to gather their attention.

"I would like to point out, I think you shouldn't kill me. I can really just leave and act like nothing happened at all." She offered. She felt tired and wanted to go home.

"No, you'll stay here as a guest till we figure out what treason you were planning." Everyone's shocked gaze turned to the Prince who had spoken. The King turned a sharp gaze towards him. They would talk about that later. For now, he did need to keep an eye on her. His past can't come back to kill him yet.

"Fine, you will be like a guest till we find out what you are hiding. Take her back and get her changed." The King waved his hands. Around the room people moved again, staring at the girl. She was just as confused as they were. Standing up, she only stared at the Prince, confused. Was that just a coincidence? As the room cleared, she watched the Prince walk away with that blonde lady. Why did he help her? Strange questions floated in her head before she was pointed towards a back room.

They walked down a long hall before they got to a darker room. She looked at the small tub that had some water in it. Having the chains taken off of her, Iesurdrar flew over and made himself comfortable on a small pile of towels. She got undressed, got in the bath and washed herself. It took awhile to get the mud off, but once she got it all off, she got out and dried herself. The water wasn't the warmest, but she was fine with it. Looking at the clothes picked out for her, she grimaced. It was a dress. Poking her head from behind the wall, she looked at one of the guards.

"Hey, can someone get me a pair of pants and a shirt? I don't really want to wear that dress. It doesn't fit well." She lied. She never tried it on. The man gave her a confused look and didn't respond. Sighing, she went back and started washing her clothes in the water. She got most of the mud off before setting them out to dry.

"Come out now, His Majesty requests your presence for lunch." One of the guards spoke. Sighing, she got half dried clothes and put them back on. She looked a little better at least. She raised her body temperature so that the clothes dried by the time she got to the dining hall.

Once the doors opened, she was greeted with another crowd of people. Again, they were shocked to see her wearing that. She was wearing the same pants and shirt, and boots. How dare she really? That was disgusting. But Cattaleya didn't care. Iesurdrar sat on her shoulder like usual. Standing there silently, the King finally spoke.

"Sit over here." He said, pointing to a seat to his right. Directly across from him was the Prince, he looked somewhat happy with that? She pursed her lips before walking up and sitting down. Once she looked down the table at the people still staring, she glared, and the room temperature dropped ten degrees. Everyone looked away and everything went back to normal. Tapping her fingers on the table casually, she gave a confused look at all the different utensils in front of her. There had to be three different forks, what were they? Are they going to eat the forks too? Everyone was dressed in high fashion.

Looking across from her, she stared at the Prince for a second, her eyes stared into his black eyes for a while before she looked away from him to the person sitting next to him. It was the same blonde lady as before. She was still hanging onto him like some type of collection item. Cattaleya gave a slight scoff before looking around the room at different people. For a second, she saw their heart-beats. All of them were pretty elevated except for the King's and hers.

"What's wrong with you? Are you even a lady?"
