Fancy seeing you here

It had been two hours. Most people in the castle had already heard about the fight that the peasant offered. Willingly she offered to fight one of the best knights. Knights were trained since birth, the only thing that they knew was how to fight, and have their loyalty to the Throne. But what most people outside of the castle didn't know was that The Pit was the training ground and acceptance ground for Knights to become true knights, fighting others in a tournament like fight to become the guard of royalty. Both humans and their binding-partner fight with each other. Most of the time the binding-partners were big animals with similar sizes, usually as big as boulders or bears.

The Pit itself was a smaller area. It wasn't actually a pit in the ground, it was a circle with a ring around it that was the boundaries. Along one side, there was a small seating area, not many people got to see this area. It was bare, nmo decorations, just the dirt that was slightly moist from the rain.

Cattaleya stood on one side of the circle, her hand on her hip while the other one held Iesurdrar on her finger. Still as a small mockingjay, the onlookers thought that the poor girl was going to die. The king, of course, had a covered area, along with the Prince. They both looked at the girl, one with amusement, one with worry. Adaline came to sit near the royals, smirking. That would get rid of that annoying peasant, and life would go back to normal.

Even if she could fight against a knight without a strong binding-partner, that would be a strong 2-on-1 fight. Dark ominous clouds started forming overhead. Obviously that was her doing, but others thought it was just a coincidence.

Scratching the back of her head, she glanced over at the other people there, just waiting. It was strange that she wasn't shaking. Shame to waste a pretty face. Tapping her foot, she looked up at the dark clouds and held her hands out. At the same time, drops started falling down, slow at first but then started to come down pretty hard. Her hair was plastered into the sides of her face. That would help level the field.

At that time, she could see someone step into the ring. Looking at her opponent, he was dressed somewhat like her, small amounts of armor on and just a sword. It was hard to see the details about his face, but she could tell they were male by the outline. But the binding-partner was a dead give-away. It was a lion, a green lion that stood almost as tall as her.

"Fancy meeting you here again." She said. Iesurdrar flew over to the edge of the ring while there was a laugh from the people watching. She bit the inside of her lip, she knew this was going to be difficult, but who didn't like a challenge.

"Well, I wasn't really surprised you were here, I knew that you were trouble when I saw you in the garden." He said, in the same voice. At least she somewhat knew the guy, maybe this fight would be slightly easier.

She laughed, shaking her head as the rais bounced off her. Drawing her sword, she got into a low fighting stance, placing the sword on her wrist guard, her other elbow up. She was a good fighter, but this was a new thing. "Your is animal going to join in too? That'll be a little harder."

He looked over at her, that was right she had a bird, not a very good fighting animal. Looking at the lion, he motioned his head to sit off to the side. Cattaleya smiled lightly as he got into a fighting stance and drew his sword.

"I'm going to try and kill you, that was an order." He said darkly.

"Oh I know. Don't worry though, I'll be gentle." She winked, and he lunged forward.
