A wave of relief washed over Cedric when they came upon the entrance to the cave, and the Gypsy Witch stood there. After seeing her horse like it was, he almost jumped off Snow Bringer in excitement.
"You had me so worried you know, running off like that," she jokingly scolded the group as they walked into the clearing. The trees had been clear cut from this spot many years ago, only the proud stumps remained to dot the hillside. The moonlight was so clear it could hold back the fog here, but small lanterns hung at the tree line and along the stone path to mark the safe area. Crude stone steps led up to an old archway cut into the hill, the cave inside gently glowing from the fire within.
"Your horse fell-"
"It didn't make it." The dwarves helped each other off as Jar'ra and Sephr dismounted.
"You won't believe what I saw!" Jar'ra piped in.
"I still don't," Sephr muttered.
