Adrien was looking at the sky and could see the meteor headed towards his position. He wanted to run away but he couldn't move due to his legs that had been broken by his so-called friend. Betrayed, broken, and on the verge of death. Streaks of tears ran down his eyes.                                                                                                He saw the meteor coming closer and closer towards him. He closed his eyes and waited for his death. The meteor hit him but he didn't feel any pain instead he heard a voice saying "I won't let anyone else die because of me".

When Jamie's eyes landed on Adrien, he was shocked for a moment.


'How the hell is this shrimp still alive, I made sure he won't be able to escape from the meteor. How the hell did he even fixed his body? It can only be done by a high ranked healer but he can't afford that".


He quickly regained his composure and went towards the dinner table.


"Son, how was your day at school? You must be very tired. Here, I told the chef to make everything according to your liking".


"Thanks mom. My day went well. I just have to prepare for the upcoming college exams". Jamie said while helping himself with the food.


"You'd do fine Jamie. After all, you are the strongest kid in class. You've already formed your mana core. I don't think anyone else in your whole school has done that". Albert said in a proud tone.


The Angelo family is considered one of the strongest families in the Redfield City. They are in the top families in the whole Vortis Empire. 


"Yes dad but I still need to work hard. I don't know what kind of opponents I'll be facing in the Selection tournament." Jamie said.


Every year a Selection tournament will be held in  every one of the big cities of the Vortis empire. Redfield City was one of these cities. After completing school, All the students will participate in a College entrance exam event. Those who are deemed worthy will be sent to the best Colleges in the Empire.


Adrien had finished his meal. He took his leave and left the dining room. He went in the direction of a certain room.


When he opened the door and entered the room, he saw a beautiful woman who was in her early thirties. She had Silky black hair and a fair complexion. She was lying on her bed, eyes closed. She has been in that condition for quite a while now. 


She was suffering from a disease called Mana core poisoning. It happens when dark mana enters a person's mana core and poisons the mana of said person. The mana doesn't affect the body in any way. It weakens a person's spirit and when the spirit is completely poisoned. It starts eating on the person's life energy leading to certain death.


Nobody knows how she was poisoned, but Adrien had a guess.


'What did my mother ever do to that bitch Mia? Why did she do this ? And now she can't even be with me. Talk with me'.


The stronger the spirit of a person, the more they can live, but they suffer more pain because their spirit keeps getting eaten.


At this moment, Dante was also looking at Adrien's mother, Sandra.


"You know Adrien, I know a way to save her but it requires hard work".


Adrien fell to his knees and started crying. 


"Anything, I'll do anything. Even if you want me to sacrifice my spirit then I will. Just save my mom. Save her, Please".


"Everything will be fine kid, I know the perfect way to cure her. It requires you to learn my power. That's all". Dante said in a relaxed tone.


"But I already have a bloodline attribute, how can I learn your power ?". Adrien asked while wiping away the tears in his eyes.


"Our souls will merge completely in about two days. Then you'll have my attributes flowing through you as well. With practice, you can learn how to control them". Dante said.


"What is your attribute anyways ?" Adrien asked curiously.
