Kim's appointment

news spread the whole palace that the king was dining with a commoner.

"so, Kim are you the only son of your family? " king Leo asked. "no , my Lord. I have a younger brother and a sister too" Kim answered. "so, how were you able to take on five guards before you were captured?" King Leo inquired. " I was a student of martial arts, I practiced martial arts since my fifth year in a kingdom very far from ours. my uncle was a border trader, I journeyed with him to the kingdom where martial art is practiced. but his late now. so,I returned two weeks ago back to our great Joseng kingdom after I had completed my training." Kim explained. " oh, very good. since you practiced martial arts..." King Leo got interrupted as the queen entered the chamber.

Kim bowed immediately to greet the queen. "have your injuries been cleaned?" queen Lily asked immediately she saw him with bruises. "yes my queen, the maiden helped me" Kim answered. " darling he practiced martial arts" king Leo said to Lily. "how old are you?" Lily asked. " I'll be twenty years in the next moon my queen" Kim politely answered. " of what use can he be" King Leo thought within himself as his wife interrogated Kim. " Kim you are now appointed as my personal guard" King Leo said as he interrupted the interrogation. Kim knelt in happiness asking what he did to deserve all this favours.

King Leo invited all the palace workers and guards to the Royal banquet hall to merry as he announce his new personal guard. everybody present ate, drank and was happy except the king's first personal guard by name Bruno assigned to King Leo by the Royal cabinet members. every palace worker and guard congratulated Kim on his new appointment, Bruno went last though he faked it. Kim being a smart young man noticed something fishy about Bruno. Kim thought all the facial expressions Bruno expressed was as a result of jealousy because the king personal guard post will be shared. he lacked knowledge of where the root of Bruno's unhappiness was from.

so, after the merry and celebration everyone returned to the various duty post. "Kim you will ride with me to your family house" king Leo said to Kim's amazement. Bruno prepared the king's chariot as ordered by king Leo. "Bruno, take care of the palace your presence is not needed in the meeting" King Leo said as the chariot moved. Bruno was greatly displeased, the first time he wasn't riding with the King Leo since he was crowned. he left to see the kingmaker and disclose to him what that has really been going on in the king's palace.

AT KIM'S HOUSE:

King leo knelt down to greet Kim's old parents. what a humble king he was. he presented some gifts and money to Kim's family after he learnt that their shops and goods were destroyed. The entire family was happy to hear Kim's appointment. Kim's old parents blessed and prayed for king Leo. The household bid them farewell as they left.

AT THE KINGMAKER HOUSEHOLD:

Bruno said all that has been happening in the palace to the kingmaker's amazement. the kingmaker couldn't believe all he heard . he thanked Bruno for the information and dismissed him. after Bruno has left, he organized a secret meeting with the royal cabinet members. the kingmaker's personal guard conveyed the details of the meeting to the royal cabinet members in their respective homes.
