Chapter 9

Then a very bad feeling comes to my mind .., "Something tells me this is going to be very difficult"

The one who answered correctly comes to collect the his reward after receiving the signal from the master to come closer, after giving him the shining armor the master mentions him smiling optimistically, "Well done boy. You are very attentive. I'm counting on you to make it to the end." Luther continues speaking, "The test is going to take place inside a great cavern infested with demonic creatures where you will emerge at one end of the place and will have to reach another if they want to get out of there alive and of course complete this challenge. But be prepared that in the road a few surprises awaits you." He ends with a dark smile.

Alfred next to me comments with displeasure, "These bastards are all the same. It is true what you said before; this game is only a mean for their fun. But the most frustrating thing is that we have no choice but to continue being their circus monkeys. I hope that at least the being able to reincarnate history is true."

I answer him with optimism and seriousness at the same time, "The truth is that I see this as an extreme training to become strong and learn to control quickly the abilities that were given to us, in addition to assessing our aptitude. But there is something of which I am sure ... It is not in his plans that many succeed."

In the distance I can hear the gang boy speaking in an expectant tone as he pulls a blade-shaped short sword from a sheath at his waist, "We'll see how many of us get it this time."

Now the instructor expresses himself very excited by raising his arms, "Let the test begin!"

The sentence ends, the teleportation portals begin to appear and you can perceive the aura of tension and nerves that emanates from everyone, drops of sweat run down their foreheads, and all hold their weapons firmly ready for the combat that is coming.

We appear in the middle of a gigantic cavern just as Instructor Luther said.

In all directions there are holes in the walls, many full of cobwebs and human bones with their armor on wrapped in them that are also scattered all over the floor. A cold, damp breeze runs through the place that stinks terribly to death, so much so that it is uncomfortable to breathe in the air.

Seeing us in that place and seeing the number of bodies, my partner tells me with great certainty, "Apparently we're not the first to play this game." As he taps his foot on the top half of a stuffed corpse, "Because of the age of this one, that one, and those over there." He nods at the bodies, "I can deduce that at least this test has been run three times."

"No" Elizabeth intervenes, appearing with a hand around the tip of her spear that she throws in front of us, and although it is quite rotten, she appears to be much more recent than the other bodies here, "This is just from a little over a week ago."

I know this because she still has some liquid inside.

Then Alfred speaks very surprised to see her, "Wow, look who showed up! If it's Princess Elizabeth! I was already wondering where you were that I didn't see you before the test started."

Elizabeth responds with the usual strong and distrustful character of her, " I was on the other side of the group with the other girls. The fact that we fight as a team does not mean that I should always be with you from one place to another.

I only accompany youin the tests nothing more."

Again, without knowing its origin, the enthusiastic voice of the Administrator is heard, "Welcome to the second test my candidates for heroes! I hope you have prepared enough to be able to meet this new challenge, because otherwise this will be your end."

A few seconds after hearing the first words of our host, the earth begins to tremble slightly and becomes stronger and stronger to the point that you can see the small stones on the ground as they begin to move by being raised a few millimeters over and over. Once due to the constant vibrations, an event that really makes me get goosebumps, a feeling that I am sure I share with the others as I can clearly see in their worried looks.

Faced with such an event, the Administrator is not too surprised, clear evidence that it is not the first time that he has seen it start running if you want to reach the end something that no one hesitates to do just to hear it, "Well, as Instructor Luther told you before, you have to get to the other end of this place, but I'm going to add something else to you." He makes a pause and about a hundred meters behind us we can see the deformed and grotesque silhouettes of creatures as horrible as they are creepy that can only have been seen in the most terrifying nightmares, that accompany their accelerated pace with high-pitched and deafening screams that make our blood run cold and we run with all our strenght knowing well that a single stumble and it will be the end.

The host continues in a serious and precise voice, "As you must perfectly know, your current group is 37 members and I tell you that to complete this test, in the end there must be no less than 30, because otherwise no one is going to leave this place. So I recommend that you try not to separate so that you guarantee the least amount of losses possible" Afterwards he returns to his usual enthusiasm, "That's all, I wish you the best of lucks!"
