Black Rose

I lied on my bed. The curtain moved in a sea of moon light. I had a great day with mom, I thought, but a way better morning. I met the new manager. He treats everybody equally, but he stuck to my Mom most of the time. They were talking something about new updates and expanding the company. I hope she gets a raise.

The morning I had was the best morning I ever had. I wanted to buy her flowers, but thank the gods Grandma Evie gave me those cookies. She liked them way better.

Man I wish I could see her again in those pajamas. They were so thin, so cute, and super revealing. I smiled to myself. She sure is innocent, but I feel that there is more to her than meets the eye. I wish I had a blessing to read minds. I would live in hers for eternity.

The way she smells her coffee imitating me is just the cutest thing ever. The way she takes a big bit of those cookies makes me smile. Her voice makes my mind shudder.

I felt that she was absent minded. She was still uncomfortable around me. I tried breaking the ice by offering a hoodie. She seemed so little and so cozy in it. I'm glad she kept my hoodie. In which this had me put up some plans to meet her again.

Plan A was to text her to get my hoodie back. Plan B was to ask her out to the park tomorrow to hang out with the boys and Josh's girl. Plan C was to ask her out to get coffee at Lava Java with some side snack. I feel she's the kind of person to order something drowning with chocolate.

My phone gave off a ding. I raised it up in my hand half hoping it was her. I opened it.

Three missed calls from Rose. One new missed call from a random number. ''God damn it,'' I said out loud. ''Can't she leave me alone for one hour. Come on Alex! Why can't you just block her!'' I threw the pillow all across the room. It hit the vase with Aphrodite's black rose in it. I stood up and picked up the mess.

I remembered the strange man that gave the rose. Once I went in, he stumbled off his chair to get to me. He held my hand and stroked my shirt. I told him,'' Please sir, I want to the rose section.'' He led me into a room full of a thousand colored roses. He had every color in mind. I was about to pick a light blue rose when he came from a corner holding a silver tiny chest.

''This,'' he said with his crooked voice. ''This is unique. You can never find anything like it anywhere.'' The chest had a huge Rose engraved with thousand thorns and leaves on its front.

He twisted the bolt of the silver box. Then he flipped it open. He muttered something under his breath. He inhaled and took out a pitch black rose whit a dark green stem and a single leaf. It was huge, the biggest rose in the whole room. It was the biggest I've ever seen. I held it trying to avoid its thousand thorns.

I decided to buy it. It cost me fifty dollars without the chest. I turned back to mom's car thinking, Aphrodite would love this. Mom yelled from her car as I was crossing the street, ''what took you so long? We're going to be late.'' I moved the rose in the air with delight. She gasped and said,'' This is the best rose yet!''

I stared at the rose. Aphrodite, I thought. I beg you to free me from the love of Rose. Do I still love her? That's a question no one can find its answer.

But then there's Eleanor, her scent, her eyes, her emotions. I could almost see radiations of her mixed feelings fuse outside her body. She is innocent. She can never break my heart. She looks like a virgin. A very sweet one too. I want to text her, but is it too soon?

I stared at the watch. Ten thirty. I held up the phone in my hands, unlocked it, opened the texting app, and clicked on her name. ''Sugar cube.'' I hope it would change to ''boo'' or ''wifey'' with a cute ring next to it.

Okay Alex, I thought. Time to initiate Plan B. I texted her ''Hey! How are you?''

A few minutes passed till she replied with, ''I'm good. You?''

I replied with, ''Great! Actually, me and my friends are going to have a small picnic at the park not really far from you're home tomorrow at eleven. I would really be happy if you accept my offer. I'll bring more cookies.'' I sent a smiley face next to that. I pressed send and threw the phone across the bed. I buckled my fingers. Please let her say yes. Please say yes. Please say yes. Aphrodite, I bought you the rose, do your magic please.

The phone gave off a little ding. My hands were shaking. I got myself together and held the phone in my hand. I peeked at the notification's bar. It was here. She replied. ''Okay deep breath,'' I said.

I slid into her text bar. She texted back,'' Actually yes. I would love to hang out. See you at eleven.''

I jumped off the bed screaming,'' yes!' I accidently hit my elbow in the wall. It felt like hundreds of ants were biting my arm. I was too excited to even pay attention to that. I texted her with shaky hands,'' See you there.''

I was overwhelmed with scenes of our day tomorrow. Her lying on my shoulder while the boys play. Us eating cookies together. Her laughing at my jokes. Us walking towards the sunset. Us lying on our backs staring at the sky or counting clouds. Us getting coffee from Lava Java. Too many things to count. I just couldn't know what to expect from her. She was too mysterious. Too cute. Too hot. Too gorgeous

Scenes played in my mind one after another. I accidently fell asleep with the scenes trailing off my breath. I expected to hear her next to me in the morning, but all I heard was the clock alarm going off at three forty a.m.
