The Olympians

Sunlight tickled my face as I slowly opened my eyes to the sound of the captain announcing our arrival after two hours. Nothing was lying on me this time. I opened my eyes slowly to peek on Alex just to find that he wasn't in his place. I scrubbed my eyes twice just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. He wasn't there.

A flight attendee passed by my seat with her short red skirt flowing gracefully. She really trusts that skirt, I thought. I tried to stop her to ask about Alex. I mean, anything could happen to him right?

''Excuse me,'' I yelled way more than I expected. She turned around with her big brown eyes and ruined mascara. Beneath her red heels were black and white Jordans. I exhaled and said with an awkward smile,'' Uhh nothing, I'm good.'' She looked behind her and gave me a beautiful smile covered with flashy red lipstick.

Alex squeezed himself between the seats and the attendee to get to his place. ''Sleeping beauty finally wakes up to find no prince next to her. What a tragedy,'' he winked at me with his gorgeous eyes.

He was flirting with me, but his way is really tough. Like dude I'm sorry, but that ain't smooth. So, fired back at him with, ''I don't need no prince, but I may want one someday.''

''At your service your highness.'' He shot that heart melting smile.

''Oh, you can find me one? That would be great cuz I can't find any.'' I smirked at the seat in front of me.

''That's mean,'' he mumbled. ''Wait,'' his eyes lit up with energy. '' What about him?''

''Which one?'' I scanned the passengers sleeping, on their phones, or tucking their head phones in. Some just woke up just like me.

''No,'' he held my chin and pointed it to a handsome red haired dude wearing an oversized blue shirt. His jawline was sharp as he rested it on the cushion. ''He's cute right?'' Alex had a teasing tone, so I decided not to give him satisfaction.

'Nope,'' I gave him a disgusted look. ''I'm not into red heads.''

''Okay… well… what about…'' He scanned the whole room and even jumped over the seats to check the back passengers. ''Ooh... found one!'' he slipped back to his seat. ''Okay at the back to the right black beanie.''

I nodded and slowly rose to peek from behind the seats. Black beanie, I thought. I scanned the area. There was grandpa sleeping next to a man talking on his phone with his mouth open. There was a woman with black bags under eyes rocking her baby to sleep. Then I saw a toddler jumping on his seat. And there he was black beanie showing out straps of curly black hair. I couldn't spot any acne on his face, but his lips were really red and good looking on that brown skin. Okay, he's good, I gotta admit it, I thought. He was on his phone texting something, on someone. He raised his eyes from the screen. I quickly slipped back down with my heart thumping.

''Oh my god,'' I whispered.

'' He saw you?'' Alex whispered back

'' I'm going to kill you Kane,'' I widened my eyes at him as I fixed my posture.

Alex jumped off his seat and peeked again. ''He's on his phone don't worry. But what do you think of him?''

''Not good enough,'' I sarcastically replied even though the guy was hot.

''You're too hard on men,'' Alex took off his gaze to the blue sky.

'' Yeah, I kinda am on boys,'' I gave off a little pouty face.

'' I feel like you're the kind that drives off a guy crazy.'' Now he was looking me straight in the eye.

'' Yes,'' I gave off a sassy smile. ''Yes I am.''

He stared again at the blue veil until he decided to say, ''Eleanor about what happened earlier…'' he scratched the back of his curly head and continued, ''I'm sorry. It was a lot of stress and I'm sure it's a lot on you too. It's too much on both of us. ''He stared at his Jordans.

''It's cool,'' I stared at the clear blue sky past his angelic face. I won't give him a hard time about it, I thought.

''When we talk to Apollo and like he's gonna tell us the prophecy. What do we do next?''

He was asking me like I was Zeus or something. His eyes were too desperate, I felt like I needed to tell him something to settle his nerves or he'll be bitchy the next time he opens his mouth.

''We'll do whatever he tells us to do. Or since we're seeing gods lately maybe we'll hear from some too.'' I tried to sound assuring and calm.

'' Yeah, I hope this all ends out well,'' he sighed.

''Yeah. Me too. But…'' I hesitated. Should I ask him? Before even over thinking, the words slipped out of my mouth,'' the gods you've met them right?'' I was curious to know about them or at least suspect the gods to appear according to Zeus schedule or list thingy.

''Well not all, but I've met some.'' He stopped at that so I stared at him with my eyes lit up with excitement. ''Okay, okay. First, there is Zeus. Pride, arrogant, and kinda rude, but he's cool. Then there is Poseidon. Actually…''

The hair on my back stood up at the sound of his name. ''He's really nice too and he loves me a lot, but everyone has his flaws.''

Except for you, I secretly thought as Hades words shone in my mind, a terribly blessed child with an equal that rose from the dead.

''Then there is Hades. He hates me, that's for sure. For some reason, he didn't claim me his son, but he did promise me the Elysian. So we're cool. Then there is Ares of course. You already know him. Then Aphrodite…'' He stared dreamily into the ceiling and said,'' A real sweet heart. Literally the best woman in the world. Well, Hephaestus haven't met him yet, but they say he's good with his hands. Then Athena, very intelligent and tidy.'' He gave off a sweet laugh as I listen intently,'' hated my room for professional architecture reasons. Hmm, Apollo I've never met him actually. Not him or his sister Artemis. They say she's really good at archery and man slaughtering.''

''All hail Artemis,'' I interrupted.

He smiled at me, added a cute eye roll and continued with, ''I have a feeling you'd be best friends with her.''

I nodded back playfully.

''Hera, The Queen Of Gods, she hates everyone and everything besides Zeus. She is deeply in love and heartbroken for all the affairs Zeus had since years before. Actually, I met her and she was… mean in a good way… and well…'' he was hesitating.

''Moving on,'' I said dismissively.

''Yeah, well also there's Hermes. I love the dude. He's the best. Demeter is well, she's bi, but I love her. She actually appeared as a teenager when I was in the forest with Ares. Such a darling. She even asked me if I knew any hot girls.'' His cute laugh struck again. '' Dionysus, it's a party every day at his place. His clothes always have wine stains on them and the man's continuously drunk. He actually introduced himself when I had my first drink with Noah. Yeah,'' he cracked a little smile. '' he blessed me with never getting drunk no matter how much I drank off.''

''Whoa,'' I was actually impressed. ''That's really smart.'' I realized that he nodded and stopped talking. ''What? This is it? Just those?''

''No, no, no. These are just the major just there is still the minor, the primordial, actually everything in human life has a God to present it.''

''So these are what?''

''Eleanor Jones, a few minutes ago, I presented to you the Twelve Olympians.''
