The retrieval

Darcy lifted her bag stepping outside of the house, it was especially sunny for a city conquered by Infernals. She looked at her twelve o'clock shadow and heaved her bag behind her walking.

Pooch nudged her as she kept forging on to the city on the abandoned road and buildings.

"Pooch, come on, not now, what do you want?"

She fussed searching for a treat and he ran in front of her and nudged her backwards. "Ugh!" She pushed back "We gotta go! Since no one wants_to travel_with, you_ I guess I have to do that_myself!" She rammed him forward.

He barked moving along fidgeting around.

The creature's eyes opened in the shadows watching them from the base of buildings and pitching into her silhouette.

Her nerves tightened at the presence lurking behind her and her spine stiffened, she whirled at the tall alien and it touched her forehead with his finger.

She clutched her head and Pooch leapt on him barking.

She felt invaded by him searching her mind and an odd sense of betrayal afterwards,

[ Like you, I have felt this way for years, I betrayed my people and propagated the destruction of millions ]

"I didn't do anything!" She growled and he pulled up with Pooch by his side.

[ By running away, you are submitting your kindred as slaves, I surmise that what was meant for you, can never be taken ]

"Stop reading my thoughts!." She sighed then raised her hands.

"Look, I appreciate your Xenomorph sentiment, Wille, but I gotta go. I played my part"

[ You are angry ]

She clenched her fists and heaved a sigh "Yeah, I am. At you"

[ You are also comfortable ]

"We're gonna miss the train. Come on Pooch"

[ But I hope you realize sometimes being complacent is a bad thing ]

He raised his hand and rocks floated from the ground, flying at her.

She gasped running across the path to averting them and the smaller ones zipped to her like bullets. She rolled over to a sign, the rocks hammered on the body, she flipped it running with it and caught a glimpse of Pooch laying back.

"What have you done to him?"

"You won't be requiring your companion's protection any longer," He said as a Pooch with his eyes glimmering like he was going through a rapture.

His horn turned black and he raised his hand and the screws from a billboard with nails rose in the air.

She grimaced at her dented sign and tossed it away facing him.

"I don't wanna do this anymore!" She yelled.

[ That is your excuse ] He threw more at her.

"Ahh!" She groaned at the cuts on her sleeves and shoved her fists out 'Why am I doing that?'

She ran faster searching for anything pliable to hop on and found a car running over it to leap on a building, her hand slipped from a bar, falling "Oh!"

Turning her head at the storm of metals coming, she curled up and teleported before the nails hit her flying into the poles and windows exploding glass everywhere.

"Oof!" She dropped at his feet and regretted her posture immediately, holding her forehead.

[ You are ready ] He said holding out his hand and she hesitated then grabbed his hand.

_Southern Hemisphere, Antarctica_

Reese swam in the ocean in the Southern Hemisphere with Nova in a mask, air bubbles broke out from the filters and they looked around.

"It indicates that the second core is fifty kilometres from where we stand" His legs flapped and they looked down.

"The water's a bit murky," He said looking around while his bubble consistently drew smidgens of oxygen into his mask.

The water was an eerie dark blue with specks of light from the surface, occasionally five different species of sharks swam past them.

"Come on!" He gestured swimming and paused at them.

"You communicate with sea creatures?"

"Nope" He mumbled swimming downward into the hurricane of small marine life and grabbing one great white and lurched back when it snapped.

Nova raised an eyebrow when he collected the stone idol and the sharks' eyes flashed a mysterious glow becoming zen.

"We're good" He hung on to its dorsal fin and they headed west.

They drifted and Nova watched the coordinates as they were getting closer to the tower, it would take them an extra sixteen minutes to get there.

"I must confess I am not comfortable with this mode of transportation"

"It's fun"

"She worries I'm too heavy"

"She?" He glanced at the baby shark and remora hanging on by its sides struggling in the currents and cackled.

"You think those two are gonna be fine with your brother?"

He looked at the surface at the figure swimming downwards.

"They'll live. We have trouble" He let go and swerved at it stopping.

"Another Stygian?"

It spun its hand and they separated at the bouts of water spiralling to grab a shark, it wiggled and chomped it by the shoulder and it pulled it apart spilling blood.

It spread and the second shark set in motion, resisting the magic and swam towards it.

"We gotta go!" He pushed Nova and conditioned the currents to move them at high speed.

The super stygian kept up and its eyes flashed when Reese turned back and pushed up avoiding the explosion. They flew out to the surface dropping on the ice like flounders causing the leopard seals to blogger away.

It leapt out and dropped on the ice cap, frowning.

"How about an ice pop? My treat" He forced spikes at him and it went through it and it kept walking holding out its hand to grab a huge chunk and crushed it.

...

T'allen smiled at the other two struggling and Nova winding around it shooting lasers. At least the Super Stygian's were working in his approval and the best part was he didn't have to lift a finger.

"Sir, the northern core is offline" The reporter stared at him from the stand where he was watching the super stygian in action.

"There's always one thing Hannan and I never had in common, redundancy"

The troopers exchanged looks.

...

Lord Zandax tuned in to the frequency they sent and listened to the message, he clasped his hands in front of the slave when he bowed deeply.

"Your sons have been very recalcitrant, it's time to put them in a bridle or I will not spare them again."
