A Realist's Decision

"So, have you decided when to leave?" Janet asked as soon as she sat down on Aldrin's bed. With her arms crossed and intimidating glare, even Irina that's sitting next to her had to zip her mouth lest the woman's attention turned to her.

"As you might've guessed, tonight." Aldrin honestly answered.

Upon hearing that, Janet released a sigh before relaxing her shoulders. She crossed her legs and bent slightly forward, a sign that she was going to listen to Aldrin.

Aldrin was aware that among the people he encountered ever since becoming an Energy Refiner, those he honestly believed to be trustworthy could be counted on one hand.

First, there's Renissa. The girl never spoke about the irregularities of his awakening. And even after she left for a Primary City to further her training, no one found out about it. However, after days of having no contact with her, he now had no idea if she was still the same. Nonetheless, he still kept his trust in her.
