Chapter 27 - Still Wish to Fight?

~ PREVIOUSLY ~

Orys and the others simply sighed as they figured out that these guys probably shared Ned Stark's opinions on how Orys and his siblings were bastards. So, they explained it to them again, but it just went over their thick skulls. So, it was time for war.

"We have you outnumbered dear nephew. If you surrender now, I can at least consider giving you the same castle you were giving me, Summerhall. After all, a hundred thousand against a mere twenty thousand, we have you outnumbered by 5 to 1," Renly spoke up as he smiled, thinking he had just won the war with words. But confusion marred his face when he saw Orys and Stannis smiling.

"Don't worry, Renly Baratheon. We have something that will even the field quite a bit…" Orys spoke up as he brought out a small horn from behind his back.

~ CONTINUING ~

As soon as Orys brought that horn out, a deep sense of foreboding began to fill up the commanders of Renly's army. While the Tyrells and Renly himself remained unbothered, the more experienced commanders like Mathis Rowan and Paxter Redwyne, became extremely cautious.

They had fought wars ever since they were teenagers. The War of the Nine Penny Kings, the Defiance of Duskendale, Robert's Rebellion, The Ironborn Rebellion; they had fought in all of those wars. But never had they seen someone take on an army of hundred thousand with only a meagre twenty thousand.

The Unsullied had defended against a Dothraki Khalsar, but even then, they had the advantage due to the fact that the Dothraki couldn't penetrate the city walls which allowed the Unsullied to defend the city much easily. However, no army in Westeros or the entire world could compare to them. The training they went through was worse then any torture inflicted upon by the slave traders or lords.

But they knew that the prince did not have unsullied in his army and even if he did, they would be pretty much useless in this war since they were on an open field. So, why was he so confident?

Before they could say anything or warn their king, Renly turned his horse around and began departing, indicating that the parley had ended and war was the only option.

When they reached back to their army, Mace began speaking, "Do not worry, Your Grace. After tonight, there will only be one true king of Westeros, Renly Baratheon. After this victory, we can finally have your marriage to Margery officiated." Mace said all this while bouncing a bit on his horse as he smiled like an idiot.

Renly simply nodded as while he was happy to hear the first part of the little speech from his Hand, the second part annoyed him to no end. He wasn't interested in the Golden Rose at all. He would much rather become King and abolish the rule that people of the same sex could not marry. But sadly, this was the only way he would win the Reach's trust, army and the Iron Throne.

Soon a sharp noise invaded their ears, as they looked back to see Orys Baratheon and his entourage standing in the same position they were in, while Orys blew the horn. At first, they thought that it was the indication of an attack, but they saw no movement from the Royal Army, something that confused them to no end.

But their confusion soon turned to shock.

The sound of something flapping, like the ones that birds make, was soon heard all over the battlefield. Soldiers from both the sides were confused with a few openly voicing out their questions but no one could answer them as no body knew what the fucks was going on.

However, within a few moments, the entire field was left stunned as they could not believe what they were seeing. Some even rubbed their eyes and began muttering 'this isn't real', to themselves, but they had to face the hard truth. It was real.

Two huge dragons, that were over 200 feet long and 100 feet tall, were circling the battlefield as they roared occasionally and struck fear into the hearts of everyone. One was as black as the night, with silvery grey spikes jutting out of its back while the other one was a grassy green in color and blended in perfectly with the field.

Everyone's eyes were as wide as saucers. Dragons went extinct over a century ago in the event that came to be known as the Dance of the Dragons. everyone knew that story. Aegon the Usurper, took the throne by force, even though his elder sister, Rhaeynera Targaryen was the heir apparent. The result: a bloody war that took the lives of millions, with the ending being Rhaenyra's death, along with the extinction of the Dragon race. But now, dragons had returned once again, literally.

"Renly Baratheon! Let me ask you again, do you wish to fight or will you surrender peacefully?!" Orys Baratheon, shouted out from the battlefield with a grin stretched across his face.

'Oh fuck!' was the only thought that ran in the minds of everyone in Renly's army.
