New Discoveries

Turns out essentia distillation was far more complicated than I originally thought it was. Using a burner as a heat source wasn't enough, it simply couldn't get hot enough, normal forges also didn't work as the stone often got too hot to even interact with it.

I fixed this issue by inventing a stone that mixed the primal shards into normal stone, this arcane stone I made was far more durable and could stand up to the heat required. Using the arcane stone although expensive worked wonderfully, although I was not done yet.

Although I had made the alchemical furnace to turn materials into liquid essentia, I needed a filter and storage device to separate the slurry that formed. The filter was made by using the silverwoods natural purifying properties and some gold to bind it together.

I got Vish to make me a device that could store the liquid and after I added the filters, I had my first arcane alembic! The movement of the essentia was easy to figure out and after getting some modular pipes from Vish only storage of vis was left.

I came up with 2 different versions of the storage, the phial, and the jar, both were glass containers that by changing the way vis flowed through it allowed them to withstand the liquid essentia.

During the process of making my essentia distillation device, I realized that my wand was not going to be enough for my later experiments. I was using vis faster than I could use it and often used all of the stored vis while making a single part of the machine.

Luckily I had found a replacement for the iron caps I had; gold caps! Gold could manipulate vis with far more versatility than iron could. The wand core was a different story, I tried using silverwood at first due to its natural affinity for magic but it never seemed to be able to hold vis.

Other materials also didn't prove to be able to store more than the normal wood core. That was until I remembered the greatwood sapling I had, I originally overlooked it because it didn't produce anything useful compared to the other plants I had.

After using it I saw that its natural durability and minor affinity to vis allowed it to hold double the amount of vis! With the new wand core and caps, I made my new wand, which was far superior compared to my old wand.

With a new wand in tow, I decided to try coming up with a way to use the wand for combat. I looked over my materials to see what might work before laying my eyes on the record the creeper had dropped.

"Hey, Vish you here I got a request again!"

"What do you want this time kid?"

"I found this disc in the dungeon after killing some monsters, I was wondering if you could make a device to play it?"

"Play a disc? Your requests have gotten weirder and weirder but this takes the top spot so far."

"Oh, yea you guys don't have these here! These discs have small ridges carved into them, when a device rides these ridges the physical ridges are converted to sound, I'm not quite sure how it works but that's what I remember reading about it."

"If you can't make it that's fine, ill figure something else out!"

"Kid that was a challenge and you know that, give me the disc Ill see what I can do."

"Thanks, Vish have a good day!"

I had figured a few things out about Vish after interacting with him so much. He did not step down from a request or a challenge. The old man had been thrown out of his old familia for doing something, he wouldn't tell me what it was much to my dismay.

While thinking of a way to turn the wand into a weapon I came up with a way to gather vis faster! The primal shards on their own had negative reactions when trying to mix them together, but they didn't have an issue while interacting with the balance shard.

Using this interaction I was able to make a charm that channeled the primal shards through a balance shard. After making this gem I had a small gold amulet made so that I could store it. This primal charm as I named it, couldn't store vis but it could channel it like crazy and sometimes pulled vis from the air to fill my wand.

I had an idea for a way to use the wand, but I was missing something to get it to work I needed a focus of some kind, the core of the spell you could say. My first wand focus used a diamond for its core, expensive yes but I had finally figured out a way to weaponize my wand!

The frost focus shot small balls of ice that upon contact froze, the ice can also bounce off walls, and after hitting myself on accident I found out they also cause frostbite really quickly. The frost focus would prove great against single targets!

My second focus was discovered after using a potato as the core object, the shock focus allowed me to shoot lightning from my wand! After the first successful wand focus, I bought some test dummies to experiment on.

The lightning could jump from target to target allowing me to hit multiple enemies at once! I may or may not have screamed UNLIMITED POWAH while testing the wand. The shock focus should be great against the armored target!

The last focus was the hardest to figure out, the core was made of a special material I had made by combining coal, gunpowder, and blaze powder which I made from crushing up cinderpearls.

The fire focus was the last focus I made and it allowed me to throw flames in a cone, the fire was really hot and while testing it out I almost burned the lab down. This focus would be great for huge groups of enemies!

I also got a small bag to store my foci so that I could change them during battle when I needed to.

After my huge success in finding a way to weaponize my wand, I heard a knock on my door.

"We come from the Freya familia! We will not have you tainting the glorious goddess Freya's area! You are to leave this building immediately!"

Now that we got some foci it's time to test them out! Suggestions and power stones are always welcomed!
