Infusion!

After getting the blood from Freya and Ottar, they left much to my enjoyment. They assumed that was on the losing end of that bargain, and although I might have been I got a decent amount of blood, which was going to come in handy.

The first thing I did after they left was remaking my golems and then I made sure nothing was stolen, much to my disappointment they had gone through my storage and in the process, they had stolen the eldritch eye that dropped from the monster during the festival a month ago.

I was pissed that they stole from me, especially something like that eye, I didn't know what it was used for but I'm sure it was used for something, and now that I no longer had it I wouldn't be able to find out. God am I going to put that blood to good use.

After my fit of anger, I went to the basement to clear everything out in preparation for the construction of the infusion altar. I tore out the flooring with the help of some golems and replaced a 7x7 meter square with arcane stone in the dead center. I placed a pedestal with 4 pillars surrounding it.

After that, I placed 4 more pedestals around the center construction, then I carved the runes into the pillars, pedestals, and the floor surrounding the infusion altar. Now that the main structure was finished it was time for the runic matrix.

By carving arcane stone in a very specific manner and filling the indents with a mix of primal shards and ender pearl dust I was able to make the runic matrix.

Infusion crafting is the process of infusing a single object with essentia and the properties of other objects. This is however not without risks, the entire process involves forcing vast quantities of energy into a single object. Unpredictable things tend to happen.

After some testing, I found out some of the effects that happen. Usually, one of the fusion objects gets knocked off a pedestal, or flux gets generated. These effects tend to worsen the longer crafting continues due to unresolved problems like lack of essentia or missing ingredients.

This however can be reduced by various means. Firstly the fusion structure should stay as symmetrical as possible, this includes the pedestals. Secondly, the addition of candles or other occult items placed around the altar helps reduce the instability.

The first real thing I made with the infusion altar was some new boots. By infusing a pair of leather boots with a feather, 2 aer shards, and a fish for unhindered movement, some magical silk I had to reinforce the boots to handle the magic, and 25 units of volatus and iter essentia.

The results were a pair of enchanted boots to ease the journey of my travels, they allowed me to move faster, jump higher and fall farther without getting hurt! They also allow me to cut through the water like a fish. I named them Boots of the Traveler.

With my new boots, I decided to make some new robes using the magical silk as well, seeing as it had quite the vis conductivity. One fancy new lab coat and pants later and I had myself a better form of clothing. After studying the magical silk, I noticed that it was ordinary fabric with vis-infused silk from those spiders I had killed.

With that discovery I tried the same thing with metal, infusing iron with vis did work but it took a huge amount of time and effort, luckily I found another way. By infusing iron with praecantatio essentia using alchemy I made a purple metal I'm calling Thaumium, unoriginal yes but it serves its purpose.

With thaumium I decided to upgrade some of my golems, my iron golems turned into thaumium golems, while I upgraded Tanks armor to thaumium, Melee got a new thaumium mace, and for Ranger I made a new bow made of bone, which was easier to draw and hit harder.

With these new upgrades I was feeling good about myself, but I was still unhappy about Freya so I decided to continue my blood alchemy.

First thing was to come up with a better way to make these potions, with that thought I went to bed to get a good night's rest so that I would be ready for tomorrow. My dream was weird, I was watching myself make potions using a machine I had never seen, I watched myself look at schematics for the device and how to use it before my dream faded.

As I woke up I had quite the headache, but after eating and washing up it was gone. I decided to try to follow what my dream self did.

It took a little extra research to figure out what I needed but by infusing a crucible with some essentia pipes, buffers, and filters as the objects and 8 permutatio,16 victus,16 praecantatio, and 8 humanus essentia I was able to make the Seroconverter.

Instead of painstakingly combining my blood with varying amounts of essentia for a low chance of making something stable, the Seroconverter allowed me to simply input blood and essentia and it would mix it in proper portions!

With this newfound method of mass creating potions, I needed a way to apply these from a distance. Luckily I already had a good start, the bone bow!

By infusing a bone bow with greatwood, thaumium, a feather, and an aer shard with 8 Volatus, 8 Machina, and 8 Telum I was able to create a modified crossbow that would allow me to launch the syringes.

With a new way to deliver the payload I came up with a new type of payload; the blast phial is simply a phial filled with blood and a small amount of gunpowder, when it impacts a surface it explodes showering the enemy in essentia charged blood!

This might not be particularly sanitary, but it is certainly effective!

Now it was time to start on my revenge, by using the blood I had gathered from Freya, Ottar, and Loki, I used a form of the meat growth alchemy I had created earlier to mass-produce a copy of their blood. Luckily the goddess's blood was able to keep the minor amount of divinity it held inside, this would help tremendously.

Now we have infusion crafting, the biggest part of thaumcraft! Ideas for things I could create using this new infusing system would be nice! Suggestions and power stones are always welcomed!
