Genocide?

The nether was just as unbearably hot as it was before. It might have actually been hotter than she remembered but she tuned it out because of her fight. Stella watched as the other familia members came through looking around gaining their bearings before heading over towards her.

"So what now miss explorer?"Bete asked

"What do you mean I'm not leading you, I'm here to solve the problems you face while exploring."Stella replied

"Is it always this hot here It's worse than the lower floors heat."Tiona said

"Stay in groups of 2 and spread out scout out the nearby area so we can make sure we are safe."Finn ordered

The groups were Finn and Tione, Tiona and Bete, Ais and Lefyia, and Riviera and Gareth.

Stella took out her golems and had them, with the other golems she had already in the nether continue to fortify the cliff face the portal was on. She spent a few hours with the golems making sure the landing area was a safe zone and making a small building she could put AC in so that heatstroke wouldn't be an issue.

Shortly after the other members joined Stella in her ramshackle house.

"You built this house really quickly."Riviera said

"Thaumaturgy and the golems are really helpful, what do you all need?"Stella asked

"We are here to exchange what we found while scouting."Finn explained

"First up is the forest below, it's really thick in some areas making fighting rather difficult."Riviera said

"Second is the heat the farther from the portal the hotter it gets, towards the edge of the forest is a huge lava ocean, the heat there is pretty much unbearable."Finn stated

"Lastly are the monsters. There are 2 types from first inspection, first are the large boar-like monsters. They are pretty large but are surprisingly fast for their size."Lefyia explained

"Then there are the humanoid types, they range from just under 1 meter to around 2 meters tall and carry golden tools and armor, they didn't seem aggressive but when you got close to them they tried attacking."Bete said

"The humanoid ones come in huge groups and they swarm you when attacking, Bete must have scared them off because after we killed a bunch they tried to run away."Tiona said

"The bodies also don't disappear upon death, they also don't have magic crystals in them either."Gareth said

"The bodies won't disappear because this isn't the dungeon, them not having crystals proves that they also aren't monsters; they are like animals. Also, are you SURE that they attacked you?" Stella said

"Yea, when we got close they made some funny noises and attacked shortly after."Bete said

"Hold on, scouting the area shouldn't have taken all that long. What took you all that much time?"Stella asked

"The monsters kept running away, it took a while to chase them down and kill them."Bete said

"You killed ALL of the monsters?"Stella asked with serious concern when it came to animals you never wiped a population out entirely that was how species became extinct!

"Yea? What's the problem with it?"Finn asked

"Every monster here?"Stella asked again

"All the monsters on this island, there is a ocean of lava after the forest we couldn't cross."Riviera said

"This isn't the dungeon, monsters DON'T RESPAWN HERE!"Stella yelled

"Yea and that means that this area is safe, there shouldn't be any issues now."Bete said

"YO- yea this area is safe you guys are free to leave, I'm going to collect material samples you guys head back."Stella said

Stella realized that it didn't set in for them, the way they knew monsters were an infinite unending source of them, they haven't properly dealt with natural animals before.

Stella watched as they left through the portal to report back to Loki, as soon as they left she bolted for the forest.

As she ran through the forest she noticed that it was much quieter, before she could hear noises and rustling from the forest but now… she didn't hear anything. The first thing she came across was some destroyed trees and what looked like the larger monsters they talked about.

The monster was a huge hog with large sharp tusks, it also had some black bony growths coming from its back. Stella got closer and decided to quickly take it apart to see how it functioned inside.

The hide was really thick and very heat resistant. The organs were pretty typical for a herbivore but the bones were a different story. The bones were white in color up until you got to the bony growth coming out of its back, where the bones shifted to a black color. Stella didn't know how the others didn't notice that the smaller ones were just children, but pushed it aside because they were animals.

Continuing through the forest she came upon a clearance filled with the bodies of the smaller humanoid ones. The bodies were covered in blood and only a few of them wore armor with most of the armor being damaged in some way.

Upon closer inspection, the bodies seemed to be wearing full-body leather armor, with the gold armor layered over it. The leather looked to be the same as the larger monsters she inspected earlier.

Stella's heart sank when she saw that they were wearing masks and when she took them off her she vomited. These were not monsters, they weren't even animals, they were humanoids of some kind.

They were definitely intelligent as well, the leather armor made from heat-resistant materials, and the gold tools proved so. The humanoids seemed to be strictly female or the males looked very feminine.

Luckily or unluckily she didn't see any children either they were evacuated or they weren't around here. Stella decided to leave the bodies in case others came by to collect them, but she headed back towards the camp feeling sick the entire way.
