Yazoo
I looked at Leonard. "I don't need you and Graceona fighting my battles."
The older man in front of me sighed. "Look, Yazoo. She does it because she cares. At least I can say that we both know how Kadaj is. More her than I, being the daughter of Sephiroth. I'm just going to say, be glad she's on your side." I sighed, looking at my weapon. "Besides, it does little to argue with her. Just accept her help, please. You don't have to be grateful, though it would be nice. Just at least attempt to smile."
I looked at the older man, placing my gun blade into its holder on my hip. "Fine, only because you seem to care so much about it."
Leonard chuckled. "Oh, I don't care honestly, I just don't want to break up a fight with a child being under my roof. I have to think of her safety above everyone else's. I love Grace and would take on Sephiroth in his ultimate form for her, however, once it comes to my child. I throw the feelings of romantic battles and love to the side. When Kourtney is well, I am happy. When she is in danger, I'm not the easiest person to get along with, as you and the others may know." He placed his hands in his pocket. "You may be my favorite. However, you are in that position because of my respect for your temper. I like you because you don't play games, you tested my patience and lived to tell the tale, don't get too cocky, and the two of us may just form that alliance that Kadaj is losing sleep over in letting it eat away at him. The decision, however, is pending with me."
"Ah, the answer to my question. I couldn't figure out how I had gained that title. I'm glad that we both have mutual feelings and stand on the same grounds as one another once it comes to the spot."
The older man looked at me. "I respect you put food on the table and go out of your way for my family, in that you have a substantial amount of respect from me. I have no reason to hate you, Yazoo. The past is the past. This is a new road for all of us. I don't hate you for something that Sephiroth placed in your thoughts." He chuckled. "Plus, you have done nothing to make me have a dislike for you. Kadaj's actions in the reunion I have something against. He endangered my child, mind washed her. Heck, once it comes to the fact of Loz and I battling, I have nothing against the boy. Childish for my tastes, however, he brings a certain entertainment to the table that keeps him alive. I don't know what that is exactly, but Kadaj was the ringleader at the reunion. You simply followed orders from a mini-Sephiroth. Kadaj was very well in control of his emotions. Whatever issues I have with him have nothing to do with you and Loz. You two have sought redemption, and you have gained it. Kadaj has not done that. Therefore, I sent the three of you away last month. I was in a critical period in my life, and I didn't need the battle to happen in my home. It was merely for Kadaj's benefit that I sent the three of you away."
"Redemption? So that's what you call that, seeking a right for a wrong, seeking to right the wrongs that one has done to another." It got quiet between the two of us. "Are sins ever forgiven?"
The older man looked at me, shrugging his shoulder. "I never tried, so I don't know." I sighed. "What are your thoughts on the forgiveness of sins?"
We stopped. I looked at Leonard. "I would say that I never thought about the topic much, but if I said that, I would be a liar. The thought comes to my mind here lately more than I want it to, along with other thoughts, perhaps visions rather."
"Oh?"
"It's nothing."
"You don't want to talk about these visions; however, you casually bring them into a conversation of forgiving sins, doesn't make that much sense, just so you know. You wouldn't bring up forgiveness of one's sins and attach something as mundane as a vision as an afterthought. At least it isn't logical thinking to do so. Though you are entitled to your space, just because I can force someone to do something doesn't mean that I want to. If you want to talk, you know where to find me. Come along, Graceona is probably waiting for us outside. I enjoy hearing what excuse she used to get Kadaj and Loz to get into this position. Want to make a friendly bet, just to have something to do?"
I looked at him. "Alright, sounds like a plan. What's the stipulation and the wager of this bet."
The man in front of me grinned. "If I win, you have to put that book of yours down for one week to make it more entertaining. You can't have any reading material, maybe a newspaper. However, if you win, I have to." He stopped. "You pick the dose of poison I endure for the week if I lose."
I looked at the older man with a grin. "Very well then, if you lose, you have to pick up my books and read them for the week."
Leonard sighed. "Then I had better not lose then. This should be fun. My bet for the winners of the match is you and Graceona, so you have to take the sides of your brothers."
"I'll take that bet."
"This is going to be one entertaining weekend. Perhaps you will leave fantasy land and come out of your room and join us for family night."
"We don't have a family night."
"We do now."
The two of us left the room, going downstairs, seeing Grace, Kadaj, and Loz sitting on the couch. "It's about time. You two took forever. Come on, let's go, let's get going," Loz stated.
"In a big hurry to get beat up huh, Loz?" the red-haired woman stood to her feet.
"Whatever, let's just get this over with." The younger brother stood up, walking from the home.
Leonard and Graceona laughed. "I believe we have pinched a nerve, dear." The taller brown-haired man stated as he looked at the woman before us.
"Lovely, now let's go have some fun."
The four of us walked from the home.
