There's No Way to Break off the Engagement

Mason drove Kara and James to the entrance of the Hemming's.

Kara got off and stared at the brightly-lit house, which made her feel gloomy instead. She was a little hesitant.

"What's wrong?" James touched her head and took her by the hand.

"James, why do I feel like the Hemming's is haunted?" Kara said in a small voice.

James's look instantly became sharp, but remembering that it had been nearly twenty years, he took a deep breath and repressed his emotion.

"Ghosts will eat me first. They don't like an ordinary person like you."

He took her hand and slowly walked into the house.

"..."

'When you lost your temper, you are even more terrifying than a ghost!' Kara thought indignant.

Although Kara pursed and complained in her heart, she clenched his hand nervously.

James felt her dependence and smiled secretly.

Madam Hemming invited them to have dinner. When James and Kara arrived, dinner was already set up.
