He Sits on the Sidelines

Leroy's lips curled into a cold smile, and Reyna remained indifferent.

She walked in and then stood there, "If you're here to fire me, I have nothing to say."

"Who said you were going to be fired?"

Reyna was surprised and looked him in the eye.

She did not believe in his sudden kindness.

Leroy turned his chair around. He held a metallic pen, tapped it lightly on the table, and then sized her up and said, "Reyna, you've lost weight."

Reyna was stunned for a moment. It had been almost two months since he called her by this.

To tell the truth, although they did quarrel, the anger had died down after so long. She, too, became numb.

She was numb to Leroy's way.

"If that's all you wanted to say, then I'll be leaving first." Reyna turned around and left.

"Wait." Leroy's tone was gentle, "I know that you are investigating Mr. Shaw. He was the only suspect. You are collecting evidence."

Reyna paused, turned to look at him and frowned, "So what?"
