We drove down to Sector Four and pulled up at the bottom of the ridge. I took the detonator device from my jacket pocket.

'Right.' I lifted the safety catch. 'Here goes.' I pressed the red button. A second later a huge cloud of volcanic orange flame erupted from behind the ridge. The earth shook, groaned, reverberated, the vehicle pitched from side to side, rocks were tossed high into the air, great mounds of earth and sand crashed against the windshield.

That was it, years of our lives gone in a second…but what now? what awaited us? was the Facility still operational? was Professor Zaragoza still alive?
