Chapter 60

When the enemy mages came out of their fortified position it was obvious to see that the mages from Arin were outnumbered. The total number of mages from Ruhen was 25, they had a total of six tier 2 mages when compared to the four tier 2 mages from Arin.

That also meant that the 16 tier 1 mages from Arin would have to fight against the 19 tier 1 mages from Ruhen.

Percival was had a severe look on his eyes as he looked towards some of his subordinates.

"Recruit Gram you will take on two tier 1 mages!"

Qila ordered whilst looking at the situation, she understood that Grey with his double casting ability should alleviate some pressure from the tier 1 recruits.

Qila also looked at her subordinates as well, she took an extra second longer on the fellow who had an arrow on his leg.

"Lieutenants! We take on those six!"

As Qila said that, her and the other tier 2 mages in the two teams shot out like bullets towards the enemy tier 2 mages.

Grey could feel June's powerful tier 2 mana as she used it to prepared for a big attack spell, it was not only her, Percival had ice aura around him as he lead their charge.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Whilst looking at those people for a few seconds, Grey understood that tier 2 mages were also very strong. Grey understood that he might be able escape from one, but it was impossible for him to win against one.

"I am going out!"

Grey said to Bon and the rest of the team as he ran towards two tier 1 mages that were charging at them. Grey still had [Giant Light Shield] that was still bouncing off some arrows that were targeted him as he charged to get the attention of two enemy mages.

'If I want to capture the attention of at of two opponents, I have to start big.'

Grey thought he looked at the serious tier 1 enemy mages that were slightly older than him, as he thought of an attention grabbing spell in his arsenal.

'I guess it will have to that one.'

Whilst keeping [Giant Light Shield] working, Grey started to cast tier 1 combination Killer spell [Multiple Giant Fireball Gale Shurikens].

This spell had a giant shuriken made of fast rotating wind with a giant fireball at the centre of the shuriken. The fast rotating made of wind gave the spell high cutting power, whilst the fireball gave the spell high explosive power.

When over 5 of these fireball shurikens were summoned on the battlefield, they captured the presence of every tier 1 mage, as these people could feel the threat of the spell.

'I am sure he would be proud of this spell.'

Grey was thinking of that yellow haired kid with blue eyes from that anime that he used to watch in his previous life.

Grey did not waste time as he fired off the multiple fireball shurikens at the enemies at the front, as he fired the spell he went to another side of the battle field to get some space.

"Defensive… Combination…"

Grey could hear some voices from the enemy mages that he targeted, it was clear to see that these people were not new recruits from Ruhen, they were experienced mage soldiers.

Grey glanced back to see that what was left of the formation made of tier 1 mages from Arin had broken up after the tier 2 mages and himself left the formation. Those tier 1 mages were moving alone or in duos.

Grey could also observe retaliatory arrows from the regular troops from Arin that had just arrived in the battlefield targeting the regular humans from Ruhen.

Because of the this, his [Giant Light Shield] stopped being hit with arrows.

The battle field was getting chaotic as Grey observed the battle.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

"Ahh!... Ahh!..."

"Be careful! That's a genius from Arin! You go after him… ! We will get rid of these newbies!"

Grey observed as [Multiple Giant Fireball Gale Shurikens] hit the defences of the enemy mages. The explosive power of the fireball combined with the cutting winds, created powerful burning cutting blades that were able to overpower some defences.

Because Grey observed a few limbs on the ground after his spell hit the enemy mages, but could not find any dead body.

'Damn! I could not even take one out. This might become a very long fight.'

As Grey thought that, he felt three people charging towards him with high momentum with highly active mana around them.

'I did not want to call forward three people towards myself. I might have overpowered the spell too much, they now think I am a threat. Though I can accept their judgment.'

Grey retreated to give himself enough space to manoevre as he took a glance at the fight amongst the tier 2 mages.

'Lt Elrod and Lt Marion make a good team against the three enemy mages who are working together trying to kill them. Lt Stein and her second in command lack synergy, they must have been made into a new team.'

When he looked at the recruits, one thing that stood out to him was the team work between Sharon and Ilse fighting 2 other enemies.

'That fellow will not make it.'

Grey was thinking about the fellow from Qila's team who took the arrow before, he was being attacked by two opponents with no one to help him, they too were busy with other enemies.

While Grey was retreating, he felt the ground go soft.

'Damn it, the enemy has a control specialist.'

He immediately used a very fast tier 1 spell, [Light Flash] which was an improved version of [Light Step], to leave the soft ground that now had completely turned into mud.

"Damn it! He is very fast, what spell was that?"

Complained a girl towards a male and a female who were with her.

"Don't worry, he will soon get tired, such a spell must drain a lot of mana."

Commented the only male in the three person team chasing Grey.

'[Mud Prison]? I have to get rid of her.'

Grey looked to where he was and could see tier 1 combination spell, [Mud Prison]. Grey could see the control specialist, it was a young girl who seemed to be in her teens, the latent earth and water elements were still around her.

BOOM! BOOM!

The three did not stop chasing Grey when the [Mud Prison] failed. There were [Dark Bolts], [Wind Blades] being fired towards Grey who dodged those spells. The fact that Grey was using a light type spell meant that he was fast, but that meant the enemy would find him easily.

Grey was literally glowing in the battlefield due to [Light Flash], thus he was hard to miss.

Whilst he was using [Light Flash] Grey casted tier 1 Killer spell [Penetrating Flaming Weapon Barrage] against the team of three.

There were multiple weapons made of fire were summoned in front of Grey which he immediately fired towards the enemy, but mostly against the control specialist.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The team of three defended against [Penetrating Flaming Weapon Barrage] with normal shield type spells. However the male of the team got heavily pushed back a lot, whilst the other females were fine because their elements were highly defensive, but that did not them from trembling with fear.

"Damn! Why are his spells so powerful?!"

Complained the male as he looked at the shining Grey who kept retreating from the main battlefield. The quartet kept exchanging attacks as they had their mobile battle.

"Do you think he is luring us to a trap?"

Commented the control specialist as she casted [Earth Barrier] to force Grey to go to the left where two tier 1 combination spells, [Dark Sun] and [Water Shock Cannon], were targeting.

"I don't think he is an idiot who would think he can get all of us with a trap."

Commented the other female in the three person team, she was the one who had casted [Water Shock Cannon] as she kept her vigilance very high for any possible traps.

'These people have good team work and high vigilance. Traps will not work against them as I had planned. I can only overpower them. We are far away from the main battlefield such that there won't be any people to see this.'

BOOOM! BOOM!

Grey casted tier 1 combination spell [Double Blazing Bright Barriers], to counter the two combination spells that targeted him. The first barrier made up concentrated fire and light elements was completely destroyed by the two spells, whilst the second barrier managed to hold.

'I guess it's time.'

Whilst Grey was behind the two barriers, he stopped using the [Light Flash] spell.

Grey took some time to cast tier 1 Destroyer spell.
