13. Upgraded Market

With the warriors exploring the open lands in 4 cardinal directions and with Cana having found the seashore already was making good progress making her way north to find where there will eventually be an inland river.

Noel organized his thoughts while bringing his memories from his past life as he made some markers on the map. According to his knowledge in this eastern region of Eden Basin, the North had some mountains which were good for building a quarry as well as huge deposits of Iron and some other materials. With a river flowing through the mountains towards the east where it eventually connects to the sea.

Building a port/harbor at the end of the river is a good choice and will enable him to explore the sea as well as develop maritime trade and the navy for Avalon. And following towards the south there was a village if accurate which was supposed to be the one where Mark and the rest of his villagers had come from. It was a village that house about 300 people which had currently been raided and destroyed.

But behind the village was a big mountain range that extends quite a dozen kilometers to the west that was hard to traverse. Noel found out there was a huge gold mine in the mountains that was one of his primary sources of income which helped develop his territory and solidified his reign for 5 years before his downfall.

With the sea to the east and a wide mountain range to the south and a river to the North, the only way to properly invade his territory was through the west which was a vast forest that then expanded into grass plains towards the farther west which was the best place to fight large scale battles.

If he could build a fort at the plains or a lookout of sorts for the beginning stages, Noel would know about incoming enemies and threats as early as possible. Cause due to the game world being expanded by 20 times the size of the earth the river to the north and the mountain ranges to the south provide good cover and were made hard to cross them to attack Avalon.

With the basic idea, Noel took out the building creation token and looked happily at the Building Upgrade Token (Market-Unique) with high expectations. He placed the market to the west of the lord's mansion.

With a warming glow, the Market came to life. The was one of the cheats of having Creation Tokens cause otherwise you would need blueprints to build structures as well as the people like architects, masons, carpenters, and the labor force.

These things depend on your luck as finding the responding talents in your villagers is randomized and if proper personnel doesn't show up in the 1st week of establishment it will put the progress of the player way behind other players.

A market was a unique building that was awarded to all the lord players at the creation of their village, which would help them tide over the initial stages of the game. It would play a crucial role in securing their foundation.

A normal market was already a good boon for someone like Noel who knew how to use its potential to the fullest, and with the upgrade token, he was excited to know what the upgraded market offers as he hurriedly pulled up the market status.

[Market (Unique Building)

Status: Connected

Region: Barrar Kingdom

Perk:

1. Buy Goods

2. Sell Goods

3. Tax Exemption

4. VIP Trade Channel

5. Auction]

Looking at the status of the market Noel rubbed his eyes to see clearly and was inwardly overwhelmed with joy when he looked at the Tax Exemption Option Which was one of the upgrades of the market.

Because normally if he wanted to buy 100kg of rice it would cost him 1 gold coin + 1000 copper coins as tax. So with the exemption of tax, he could save the 1000 copper coins which are 1 silver coin.

The money system in the game is like Copper

So 1000 Copper Coins = 1 Silver Coin,

1000 Silver Coins = 1 Gold Coin

1000 Gold Coins = 1 Platinum Coin

So with the tax exemption and the 100 gold coins he received as the reward for the tutorial, he was really excited and looking forward to checking the 2nd option brought forth from the upgrade.

[VIP Trade Channel:

8. Random Spawn Node (B) = 50Kg of Food

9. Cannon Blueprint (A) = Build a Port

10. Event Spawning Token (A) = Have a Granary]

Noel thought he was dreaming to look at all the trade requests as there was even a legendary summoning token and a sulfur spawn node. But looking at the conditions to get the items made him sad. As each of these conditions was hard on their own and even the previous top rankers would find it hard to complete it at the initial stages of the game.

While clearing his thoughts he looked at the buy option and started looking at purchasing some food. Looking through the list and buying enough food to last for a week cost him like 10 gold coins.

Noel bought a few kgs of vegetables and staples like wheat and rice and a few dozen liters of drinking water. With everything stored in his inventory, Noel made his way back to the mansion where the tired and starving villagers were resting with a smile plastered on his face.
