It Is Over

"Excuse me, but the last I check, you're not her boyfriend anymore."

Norah let Xander go and turned to find Liam was standing behind her with annoyed expression, a glass of champagne in his hand.

"Chill, man.. She is all yours." Xander backed away.

"Liam! That was so rude. Xander just gave me a birthday gift!" Norah scolded him. The precious gift was still in her hand and her boyfriend looked at it with uninterested face.

"Wait.. You haven't given me a birthday present yet." She demanded, outstretched her hand with palm upwards.

What kind of boyfriend didn't give his girlfriend a birthday gift?

He lowered his head to her ear. "I'll give it to you when we're alone tonight, just you and me."

Before she could reply him, Gabby had grabbed her hand and dragged her to an empty spot at the room, beside the front door.

She looked left and right before she said, "Goshhh.. Norah! We haven't seen each other for almost three months and here you are with two striking men fighting for you!"

Norah laughed, "What are you talking about Gabby? That one with black hair and green eyes is Xander and that person holding a champagne glass is my boyfriend. Let me introduce you to him.."

Gabby halted her. "Wait, wait.. Xander is the man you've love all this time, right? But you're dating with his look-alike person?" A little confused by the news.

"It's a long storyyy… Liam is his cousin, and I'll tell you later!" Norah turned to walk away but suddenly a strong arm from behind seized her neck, a gun pointed at her forehead.

"Don't move or I'll put a bullet in your head." He said with menacing tone.

Split second later, all hell broke loose. Everybody in the hall screaming in fear, several adults there directed her friends to run to the back of the house. The music suddenly stopped. Norah shivered in his embrace, she didn't need to look up because she knew who it was.

Daniel Rodriguez.

He finally showed his face, in her fucking birthday party and mess everything up. Great! It made her want to kill him even more.

"Noah!" He yelled out and took a few steps forward with Norah still in his grip. "Where the fuck are you? Look what I got, your precious munchkin." His voice boomed in the hall.

Norah chuckled, even though her body was shaking because a fucking gun pointed at her forehead. "My brother is not here, dolt."

Daniel pushed her head with the gun's front side. "Shut up or I'll shove it up your ass." He tightened his grip on her neck, suffocating her.

"Daniel, let her go." Xander walked towards them. "You've make enough damage to her. It's time to settle everything like a gentleman. Your revenge is on Noah."

Daniel pointed the gun to Xander and laughed like a mad man. "You, Xander! The person that messed up all of my plans. That was a good move, I must applaud you.. Hacking into my system and blocked all of my sources. Brilliant."

"You don't need to kill anybody tonight, Daniel. It's over for you, just turn yourself in."

Some of the people that Norah didn't recognize, turned out to be cops. They pointed their guns to Daniel.

"Daniel Rodriguez! It's not too late to turn yourself in." One of them said.

"It's not that simple, I'm dead anyway.. So I'll just drag them with me! Clara Anastasia, where are you?" Daniel bellowed, searching for the brunette in the room.

"Don't come out, Clara!" Xander hissed. Daniel had warned him when he sent that black box with a dead mouse inside, he was afraid, terribly afraid that it would happen.

Daniel shoved the barrel in Norah's mouth. "If you don't want her to die, out right now!" He threatened.

"Time is ticking…"

Clara slowly moved out from the corner of the room, her legs were too heavy to walk towards them. It angered her that she is such a coward. So she straightened her shoulder and lifted her chin.

"What do you want, motherfucker?" She cursed with fiery eyes.

Daniel eyed her slowly from top to toe, "Such a beauty to behold. You always have eyes for beatiful things, Xander.. But she would die in front of you tonight."

He pulled out the gun from Norah's mouth and pointed it to Clara's face.

"Nooo!" Norah let out a hollow scream.

She clenched her eyes shut. It would be the end of her life.

How ironic.

All this time, she thought she would die at Xander's hand, her kidnapper's hand. But looks like the enemy of the man that kidnapped her would be the one who did it.

"I love you, Xander." She whispered.

She waited.. But nothing happened, instead Daniel yowled when something smashed his head from behind. He managed to pull the trigger and the gun went…

BANG!

The bullet almost grazed her smooth skin, just a milimeter away and it shot the statue at the far end of the hall. She swayed a little but Xander quickly caught her.

At the same time, when Daniel was still disorientated from the hard thing being smashed to his head, Norah seized the gun from his hand and without thinking shot him on the stomach.

Gabby stood not too far from Norah, her hand holding a broken chinese ceramic vase with pale face.

Thick sticky liquid formed around the spot, with two shaking hands still holding the gun, she stood there looking at wounded Daniel.

"Norah!" Liam snatched the gun from her hand and took out the remaining bullets.

All of the cops surrounded Daniel and he still try to get away, he took out a penknife and started to attack Norah again.

BANG!

The bullet went off again, but this time it was not from his gun. Daniel fell to the ground, dead with his eyes open, his head covered in blood.

Died like his father, in the same way at the hands of the same person.

Noah ran to his sister and hugged her tightly. "It is over, it's all over, Norah…"

Then Norah cried in his arm until she faints.

Her brother panicked and shook her slightly. "Norah! Munchkin!"

"Perhaps she was in shock with the situation. Let me take her away." Liam lifted her body and looked at him in the eyes. Noah nodded and Gabby followed her friend.

The police took Daniel's body away. After assuring that Clara was ok, Xander left her and talked to some police and shook their hands. His servants already wiped the blood on the floor, clear the mess in the hall, everyone safely escorted back to their home. He would deal with law-enforcement people tomorrow.

"What will happen now?" Norah asked him with blank face.

Xander gave him two pats on the shoulder. "Nice clean shot, as always."

His boss praised him instead of cursing him from all of this mess. "Sorry you had to suffer great loss because a man wants to take his revenge on me, Mr. X."

"Don't forget what spurred him to do so. You rescued Clara from his father for me and your sister had to suffer because of it. I would never be able to repay you, Noah. But Clara is off-limit. She is mine. You better forget about her." Xander warned.

Noah lowered his head in defeat. "I know.. I won't touch her. But once you set her free, you can't stop me." He walked away from his boss.
