"Is the weather in Avalon hot?" Ara asked me.
"Didn't you used to live there?" Mia asked her back.
"It's been a long time. I can't even recall the king's faces from that time." Ara chuckled and turned to face me. "So how was the weather in Avalon?"
"The last time I went, it was hot, but not too hot." I responded.
"Come on! How long would you pack your clothes?! We're only staying for a week, yet you're preparing clothes for a month." Mia was irritated.
We're both in Ara's room, watching her pack her belongings.
Me and Mia already finished packing ours which is why we're watching Ara. We've been here for an hour already and she's still not done, it's been 2 hours.
I wonder how the boys are doing?
*knock knock*
"Are you guys in here?" Caz's voice could be heard outdoors.
Speaking of...
"Yes!" Ara answered. "You may enter!"
The door opened and the boys entered the room.
"What the hell?" Noah said, looking at Ara's clothes all around the floor.
"Just let her," I groaned.
"Should I bring this?" She asked, holding a summer hat.
"No! You'll only give it to me to hold throughout the walk!" Caz exclaimed.
I laughed, that's true.
Ara pouted.
The boys sat on the bed next to us. Kye sat next to me and held my wrist. I looked at it and saw a bracelet in his other hand. He wore it to me as I looked at it. It covers the scar on my wrist.
"It looks expensive..." I whispered, "Thank you."
"It's from all of us, though." Noah's head emerged out of nowhere in the center of us.
"I appreciate it."
"That's pretty expensive, you know! Even more costly than the necklace you gave us!" Ara brags.
We all have matching necklaces, as well as Ravin. It's not actually expensive, I bought it at the market when I joined Maid Ihre in her errands outside the mansion. It was actually on sale when I bought it, that's why I was able to purchase 7 of them.
"I don't think that's something you should be proud of." Mia said.
"Really?" Ara asked, innocently. "Sorry."
I chuckled, "It's fine. Thank you for this."
"Now finish packing!" Noah exclaimed and lay on Ara's bed.
"Shut up! I need to focus."
"What's there to focus on?" Caz asked.
"Which dress should I bring, duh?" Ara rolled her eyes and raised two floral dresses, "So which one should I bring?"
"The one on the left." I answered immediately. I responded right away. She won't stop until someone responds to her.
Honestly, both dresses look the same, the only difference was the color of the florals.
"Okay!" She packed it in her luggage then finally, she closed it, "I'm done packing!"
"Finally!" We sighed.
"It's already midnight, we should go to bed." Kye said, "We have to wake up at 6am, understand?"
"Yes."
"Goodnight," I yawned as I stood up and stretched my body.
We exited Ara's room and went into our own. Because our rooms are adjacent to each other, we could see each other before entering.
...
"yawn... I'm still sleepy..." Caz yawned.
We're waiting outside the mansion for the carriage that will take us to the port.
"Make sure to send a letter as soon as you arrive, if you don't then we'll immediately go there and fetch you, understand?" Sir Arch said.
"Yes, Sir." We responded in unison.
"The carriage is here. Better be careful, okay? Kye, take care of them."
"Yes, Sir." He bowed respectfully.
Kye, Caz and Noah are bringing their swords just in case something happens, Sir Arch was the one who asked them to bring it since it's better to take caution.
We traveled an hour to get to the port where a private ship was waiting for us. We were able to leave the country easily and there, we will stay for 2 days before we arrive at Avalon...
Our hometown.
...
2 days later,
"We're back..." I whispered.
As we step out of the ship, we are greeted by a gust of fresh air.
"Argh... it's hot. I should've brought my hat!" Ara expressed her displeasure.
"You're simply accustomed to the cold of the north. Stop being so dramatic," They began bickering after Noah stated that.
"Let's go," Kye remarked, and we walked away from the port, toward the capital.
"We should look for an apartment first to leave our luggage." Mia said and started to look around for an apartment.
"Sir Arch has already made arrangements for a place to stay. It's only a short distance away." Kye said and walked in front of us.
As I looked around, I found Ara grasping my arm and a lot of people staring at us. Because we came from the north, our clothes are visibly different from theirs, as is the fabric.
"We've arrived."
We faced the three-storey building in front of us. It's big.
"Wow... the Duke never fails to disappoint." Ara muttered.
"Let's head inside." Kye opened the door for us and was the one who talked to the front desk. They lent us 2 keys. Kye gave the other one to Mia, "Here's the key in your room. Make sure to take care of it."
"Sure."
"What?! Why not me?" Ara exclaimed.
"Really?" Kye looked at her with a straight face.
"Tsk."
"What about me?" I asked, I could also take care of a single key.
"You're the same as her." Kye said and turned his back to us.
I pouted and pinched Ara who was laughing at me.
"Leave your luggage and head down, we're going to eat outside."
We went to our rooms and left our belongings.
"I wonder if I'll meet my father..." I unconsciously said as soon as we entered our rooms.
I felt Mia and Ara's gazes at me and I chuckled, "What? Just wondering."
"Are you afraid?"
"Not much, I just thought that if we saw my father, I'm not sure how I'd react."
"Don't worry, we're right there with you." Mia hugged me and said.
"Let's stop overthinking and simply have fun, okay?" As I nodded, Ara pinched my cheeks.
We made our way down and spotted the boys waiting for us.
"Let's eat!" Ara exclaimed.
