Mayor was roaming left to right in his vast office. He was soaked in anxiety. It appeared from his face that he was afraid of the visit of Ellen in his office. It was pretty obvious as he had already informed his guards to keep that lady away from the ambiance. He did not want any trouble.
Ellen came in. she sat without saying anything. Mayor asked in a rude tone:
"What's your agenda here?"
Ellen chuckled. She was amused at the confusion of the mayor.
"Stephen! Do not behave as if we had not met already, you know me, I am a friend, not enemy.... At least I consider you my friend".
"We are not friends, we just met in official meetings… that's it and over that, I do not even trust you."
Ellen burst in to laugh again,
"I understand your hesitation; you must be worried over the case that I have won against your son over the matter of land property."
Mayor seemed to be interested in the conversation. Ellen went on:
"Look! People fight with each other for their rights, I just fight better....." there was no pride over Ellen's face. She was serious about her skills.
Mayor's face started getting red and he said:
"That land belonged to my son, he wanted to use it for educational purposes but you drew an illegal case over the land and sequestered it."
"Look Stephen, grow up! live in the real world where power is the only game-changer, your son had a good vision of giving off his land to the university but my chamber had to use it for official purposes, by laying claims over the land in an astute manner, we made that land ours. That's the whole story." Ellen explained as if she had practiced saying it.
"You are an evil, Ellen. Maybe not now, but you are going to have to pay for this"
Mayor said in an exasperating tone.
"Ha-ha! I thought I was going to threaten you but you are way more excited than me" "I guess this is not the right time to put my views on your table" Ellen said wisely.
"Maybe you need to forget the way to my office then we shall be at peace," Stephen said.
Ellen's eyebrows knitted in anger at the stupidity of the mayor. She decided to remain silent. She put on her sunglasses, picked up her bag, and left the room without saying any words
"Mayor of the city has gone mad, totally mad "
She came outside the building and pointed towards her driver. The driver was waiting outside with his back on the left door of the car. As soon as he saw Ellen coming outside, he smiled at her, she did not smile back. He knew naturally what would have happened in the office. Ellen sat in the car, car moved forward as if it knew where it was headed to. It was first defeat of Ellen on professional grounds but she knew how to turn tables.
