ARE YOU REMINDING ME THAT I'M 27 ?

FLASHBACK CLOSED. THE PRESENT, NEXT DAY AFTER ROSE WEN'S BIRTHDAY.

Imperial city at Seren's apartment in the morning.

Yesterday after sleeping with the photo of her and her mother's , Seren woke up at 8:00 in the morning. She had a bath and was preparing to get ready for her work. She had her breakfast which she made for herself. Seren wore a turtle neck black sweater pairing with sky blue jeans. When she made sure she had everything she needed with her she left the house. She drove her car to the Trust Hospital. Trust Hosptial was the best Health Care Center in Imperial city. Seren worked there as an emergency medicine specialist and as an well known cardiac surgeon.

When Seren entered the hospital, a handsome man in his 23's was waiting for Seren with two cups of coffee. As Seren came he greeted her, " Good morning Boss" and gave her one cup of milk coffee with whipped cream on it.

Seren had a sip of it and complimented him, " This coffee is perfect Kevin. You can take the heart transplant case of Miss. Garcia from my desk but remember to keep it back after studying it".

Kevin was delighted now that his boss had finally rewarded him and gave him the permission to study the case of Miss. Garcia's heart transplant which was a complicated surgery performed by Seren herself. He said, " Thankyou Boss".

Both Seren and Kevin strode towards the elevator. While standing in the elevator drinking their own coffee Kevin remembered something and so he asked Seren, " Ah! Boss how was the revenge yesterday?".

Seren replied as if not interested in the topic, " It was not bad. Also I'm not gonna take revenge. It was just a threat to them".

Kevin got a phone call and he attended it. After hanging up the call he reported to Seren, " Boss Mr. Williams's men has come. They are waiting in the office".

Seren didn't say anything. When she reached the cardiology department floor, The receptionists and other junior doctors wished her good morning but Seren didn't answer anyone and went to her office. She never talked with anyone except the work matters. The only one she was close to was her junior and her assistant Dr. Kevin Matt. He was practicing cardiology medicine under Seren for 3 years now. He loved to call her 'Boss' as if he was her real assistant. Whenever Kevin did a good work Seren used to give him the cases which she performed surgery on to study. It was like an reward for junior doctor like him.

As Seren entered her office she directly went towards her desk ignoring the man in his 30's sitting in front of her desk. She wore her white coat that doctors wear and sat on her chair. She asked the man in black clothes in front of her with a well built body, " What do you need me for Mr. Davis?".

The man replied, " Boss wishes to know that the gift he gave to Dr. Seren was it useful to you?".

Seren with an expressionless face replied, " It was really useful. Please thank Mr. Williams for me".

Davis said, " Boss ordered me to relay his message to you. He hopes if you wish to thank him then please personally have a dinner with Boss today in the evening. He wishes to see you".

Seren replied, " Fine then. Forget that I thanked Mr. Williams. I don't think there is any need for me to thank him". Seren directly rejected the dinner invitation.

Davis made a pitiful face and said trying to plead her, " Dr. Seren please don't reject us. If you don't come then I may die by Boss's hands. You can ask Dr. Matt about Boss's temper. Please Dr. Seren save us this time".

Seren looked at Kevin who was standing behind the man in-order to confirm what the man said was truth or not. Kevin nodded saying, " It's true. Mr. Williams has a really bad temper".

Seren sighed and replied , " Fine Mr. Davis. I'll go for the dinner. But please ask Mr. Williams to make it short and simple. As you know I'm pretty busy".

Davis smiled and said, " Thankyou Dr. Seren. I'll send someone to pick you up at 7:00 in the evening".

Seren replied, " No need to pick me up. I'll come there myself. Just send me the address".

The man thanked Seren once again and left her office happily. Soon as Davis left Kevin sighed and asked, " Are you really going Boss?".

Seren replied busy looking at some case papers, " Weren't you the one who pushed me in the cliff?".

Kevin replied worriedly, " Seren you can't avoid these things like you did in college days. You are already 27 now so you have to face it no matter what".

Seren stopped reading and looked at Kevin, " Are you reminding me that I'm old enough to get married? I know that he likes me and so I'm directly gonna reject him.".

Kevin said, " How many times has it been that you have rejected every relationship proposal till now. Just give a chance to your self and try falling in love instead of continuously ignoring and running away from it. I know your plan is to not get married as it is not the decision you can make but at least try dating a man. Sometimes I even wonder whether have your dating cells died?".

Seren replied, " Stop nagging me and study the cases which I gave you. You are a resident now and not an intern doctor anymore. You Need a lot of knowledge and practical skills. Please don't waste my precious time anymore. You can get back to your work".

Kevin sighed as he saw Seren getting busy again reading the patient's cases. He left her office as he knew that no one can convince this stubborn woman. Kevin had known Seren from his college days. At that time Kevin was just a college student where Seren was learning medicine aspiring to become a cardiologist. They were from the same university. Kevin had seen Seren in his college days rejecting every proposal and breaking heart of young men ruthlessly by ignoring their love. He wished that Seren would find her love someday and meet her fated one. He hoped that there must be someone on this planet who can melt this beautiful yet cold woman's heart.
