AFRAID OF BEING ABANDONED AGAIN.
Imperial City in Trust Hospital at morning,
Seren who just exited the elevator directly strode towards her office in the cardiology department. All the junior doctors and nurses greeted her but as usual she never responded to any one of them and just went on her way without minding anyone. She entered her office as she placed her bag on her desk.
As she was wearing her doctor's coat she was talking to herself, " Why does he keep bothering me? He said it as if I am really a mean person who is never thankful at all. Am I really that bad? Ahhhhh...There's never a day when he's not on my mind. Always troubling me and teasing me. I don't say anything to him because he's younger than me but day by day he's turning more and more bold. These days what is wrong with him? Did puberty hit him late at age of 25? My head really hurts because of that quack. If I could I would just punch his face like....AHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Seren was checking her files as she was in her own world and talking to herself and didn't realize that someone was already there. The moment she looked up she was shocked.
Seren calmed herself as she asked, " Why can't you make a noise when coming?".
Kevin who was at the door standing till now came in as he said, " You seemed to be busy boss. But what were you talking about? Who is the lucky one when there's never a day he's not on your mind?".
Seren just replied as she was busy looking at her files , " Mind your own business".
Kevin assured her as he said, " Ayy~....tell me boss. Who is the one who's on your mind?".
Seren looked up from her files and glared at him as she replied, " Do you want to smell the incense of your funeral? Wanna make me help you with it?".
Kevin didn't ask any further as he knew that his boss was a really scary person once she gets angry. He just changed the topic, " Boss let me get you your favorite coffee. It will make you feel better. I'll be back in a minute".
Kevin just turned to go but Seren stopped him as she handed over a pen-drive to him and said, " This is the drive you wanted. Make sure you don't lose it otherwise you'll be dead by my hands".
Kevin smiled and tried to assure her, " Boss don't you worry at all. You know that I am the best at keeping things safe".
Seren replied, " I don't know".
Kevin was attacked by her savageness again but he didn't mind and tried to confront himself as he said, " Boss you believe in your junior. Right?".
Seren replied without looking at him as she sat down on her chair, " Nope. I don't".
Kevin finally gave up as he knew that this woman was not the type to give in easily. He just went on his way to buy coffee for his boss which can make her cranky mood a little better.

In general ward of Trust hospital at morning,
The cute little boy just opened his eyes slowly from his deep sleep and looked around his bed only to find the room empty and no one beside him.
He slowly got up to sit and kept looking at the huge window on his right side which showed the bright morning view of the city but he didn't seem happy at all. In fact it was more of a sad expression which resembled the disappointment as he stared blankly at the huge window. Soon a nurse came and helped him with his things as a morning routine.
After getting freshen up he was again staring at the window as he was sitting while leaning on his inclined bed. Suddenly the door opened as a petite figure came in. The boy didn't take a look at the face of this person who just came in as he recognized the white coat and concluded it to be a doctor who came to check on him. He just looked down to avoid their gaze as he was nervous.
The person strode towards him as he came closer. The boy seemed anxious as to wonder what the doctor was trying to do. He thought that maybe the doctor was trying to check his IV drip? When the boy was in his own thoughts suddenly a soft hand patted his head with warmth.
The boy a little flustered looked up to to meet the face of this person who just came in as his expectations were high.
Seren stroked his head and said, " Did you sleep well Lucas?".
His eyes lit up as soon as he saw her. It was as if he was waiting for her and just nodded as to answer her question. He smiled a little.
Seren arranged the breakfast for him on the table which was attached to his bed as she asked, " Did you wait for long?".
Lucas shook his head and just said softly, " It's fine" and looked down again.
Seren smiled as she replied, " I'm sorry. I went home cause I needed to make breakfast for you and had to clean up myself".
Lucas didn't say anything more as he noticed every action of Seren and stared at her curiously. After setting up the table for him....Seren sat on the chair beside his bed and then fed him the porridge which she made at home for him. He quietly ate all of it as she was feeding him. It was the first time when he saw someone caring for him and he surely loved it.
After feeding him, Seren cleaned up the table and then strode towards the little cute guy. She stood beside him as she asked him, " Lucas I will be busy the whole day and may not be able to come to meet you so will you please wait till I finish my work?".
Lucas was sad after he heard her but he just nodded his head as he didn't want to be a burden to her. Seren pecked him on his forehead and said, " After I finish my work we will go home. Okay? I'll be back as soon as possible".
Lucas looked into her eyes as he asked, " Mommy will be back. Right?".
Seren assured him as she patted his head and then left the general ward. Now Lucas was the only one in the room. His eyes never left Seren. He was somehow getting attached to her little by little. Though she was not his real mother but she was someone who cared for him which not even his parents did since he was born. All they did was just to abandon him because he's a cursed child who brings bad luck to everyone beside him. Though Lucas liked that Seren was by his side but he was scared too. Afraid of being abandoned again.......afraid of being alone by himself again.
The little guy sighed. He just thought to wait for her until she finishes her work.
