Imperial City at Trust Hospital in the evening,

Seren who just came into her office after a long surgery of 7hrs was really tired as she sat down on her chair to relax a bit. She closed her eyes for a moment as she rested her back on the chair. After a few minutes, she opened her eyes and then took a glance at her wristwatch and it was already time for her to complete the discharge procedures for Lucas so that she can take him home. She quickly grabbed her things and removed her doctor's coat and was about to step out of her office but just then, her phone rang.

As soon as she picked up the call, the person on the other side said, " Are you done?".

Seren replied, " Hmm. I'm just preparing to go home".

Louis asked, " Where are you right now?".

Seren replied, " I'm still at the hospital in my office".

Louis said, " Don't go anywhere and just stay where you are. I'll come to find you".

Seren was about to say something but before she could, the call was already disconnected. Louis knew that she was either going to reject him or would just ask a lot of questions so before she could say anything more he just disconnected the call.

After packing up her things, Seren stepped out of her office, and just then she saw Louis approaching her. She questioned him, " What are you doing here?".

Louis replied as he stroked her hair, " What? What am I doing here? Of course I came to pick you up wifey".

Seren didn't say anything and just walked ahead of him. Louis who was left behind thought, " Does she love leaving me behind?".

Before she could go any further, Louis quickly followed her.

Imperial City in Seren and Louis's apartment at night,

Today Louis came to pick up Seren and Lucas cause though the surgery was successful that just happened a few days ago, Lucas was still unable to walk completely as he was not recovered.

Coming home, Louis helped Lucas sit on the sofa in the hall. After making sure Lucas was alright, Seren went towards the kitchen so that she can cook something for dinner. Looking for the ingredients Seren asked, " What would you like for dinner Lucas?".

Lucas replied in a soft voice, " Anything's fine with me".

She asked him again, " What do you like dear?".

Lucas replied as he kept his head down, " I don't know".

The moment Lucas said this, Seren and Louis gave a look at each other as they both remembered their I DONT KNOW series fight. They both wondered if there was something he didn't like or is uncomfortable about?

Seren quickly strode towards him and stroked his hair as she asked, " Why you don't know Lucas?".

Lucas was a little nervous to answer this question, " maybe because I....."

Seren saw the little boy fidgeting his fingers as she saw his nervousness and assured him, " It's okay. You can tell me, dear".

He replied, " I haven't had that much variety of foods so I don't know maybe".

Seren understood that Lucas was treated unfairly at the orphanage. Maybe they were treating like this to him because he was that so-called cursed child? Seren remembered the first time she saw him. He was fragile and looked malnourished as a child who hasn't had proper meals for days. She felt bad for him. Lucas didn't directly say that he was starved at the orphanage but his nervousness could show that.

When Seren was in her thoughts, Louis noticed that both the mother and son were quiet and he too felt bad for Lucas. He assured, "it's okay, mommy will make you a huge variety of food. Right Seren?".

Seren came back to her senses as she heard Louis and then nodded to agree with him as she said, " Hmm. I'll make a lot of things for you so that time you must tell me what you like. Okay Lucas?".

The little cute guy just nodded and replied, " Yes".

She patted his head and then went back to the kitchen to continue with her work. Louis turned on the tv so that Lucas won't feel bored and then he went to the kitchen to grab some juice for this little boy.

As Louis was pouring the juice into a glass, Seren called him, " Louis can you please help me open up this jar?".

Louis was a little surprised to hear her, " Huh?".

Seren repeated, " Please open that jar for me".

Louis said, " Yeah...okay" and he picked up the jar as he opened it, and passed it on to her.

Seren replied, " thank you".

Seren was busy with her own work when Louis came closer to her and asked, " Did you call me by my name instead of Mr. Edward?".

Seren replied nonchalantly, " Yeah....if I call you Mr. Edward in front of Lucas then he'll call you the same. So I'm calling you by your name so that he won't learn it wrong. Kids tend to learn from what they see and hear so you need to be really careful in front of them".

Louis said, " Ah...I see. But can you please do me a favor?".

Seren asked, " What do you need?".

Louis replied, "Just call me Louis even when Lucas isn't around. Mr. Edward sounds like an old man when I'm such a handsome guy".

Seren didn't pay that much attention to him until Louis suddenly came closer and whispered in her ear, " I like it when you call me by my name more".

His voice sent shivers down her spine. Suddenly out of blue he came this close and whispered in her ear. She could feel his breath and could hear his raspy voice so close and crystal clear.

After a moment when seren came back to her senses, she turned back to look at him and give him an earful of scolding but he was nowhere to be found. She realised that this quack already left to give juice to Lucas. Louis knew she would argue with him so he ran away from the kitchen before even she could say anything.

Hello Dear Army Reader's !

first of all, I'd like to sincerely apologize to all of you for not publishing anything over the past few months. I'm really sorry for leaving without notice and suddenly taking a pause. actually, there were just a lot of things I had to go through mentally and I had my annual exams too. fortunately, everything has come back to its place so I'll be continuing with writing our novel. it was never a STOP, it was just a small pause so we'll be getting back on our journey.

I am sincerely sorry for making you'll wait for this long.....well it's been two months since I last wrote something. I apologize from the bottom of my heart to you'll....*bows*. please forgive me.

and more than that I'm grateful to everyone who has been waiting for me to come back and continue writing. I'm really thankful to all of you for reading my work. I hope you all can correct me and tell me my mistakes or something you feel wrong about in the chapter. being an amateur author as this is my first work so I still have a lot to learn.
