Chapter 9 ( the beginning )

Natalia's POV

" 5 points for both ladies " the elderly man announced and I smiled, I wasn't happy that I made 5 points, I was happy that for the first time I didn't make a fool of myself, I didn't know how to embroider but somehow I impressed every one

Looking around as the crowd cheered, I could not stop myself from smiling. I looked at the king, the moment my eyes fell on Rowan, my heartbeat increased and I couldn't breathe for a few seconds, I was taken by that beautiful sight, his smile, as he smiled eyes glowed making him look like an Angel, and the smile faded immediately " I goodness " I whispered to myself and looked away because he was looking at me as well " why does he look so damn good " I thought to myself

Using my hand to tap my chest " why do I feel this way, am I sick " I wondered, trying to understand myself. Taking a deep breath, in and out "maybe I have to see a doctor "

" Now, the next competition begins "the elderly man announced, I swallowed hard knowing very well that I can't even hold a brush

" I am so done, there is no way out in this one, " I thought to myself

" The theme of the competition is power " I raised an eyebrow at the man's words " in your way, express power in painting," he said and I could hear whispering coming from the crowd " your materials will be....." Before he finished a soldier body into the hall drawing every attention

" My lord, My lord " he calls with a loud and scared voice " My lord " he greeted

" Speak," the king said giving his full attention

" My lord, it's can't be explained, you have to come to see for yourself " breathing heavily, the king looked at the crowd and saw how frightened everyone was, then he stood up

" The event is dismissed, Ladies, Amilia? " he called " you will be escorted to your rooms, Rowan, come with me" he gave his others and with that everything ended

I was glad that something came up, it just saved my life, I wonder what it was. We were escorted to our rooms, the moment I got to mine, I turn to the guard and ask " what is going on "

" it's not something you should worry about, my lady " he replied and was about to leave but I stopped him

" it doesn't prevent me from knowing, " I said, he looked at me for a while

" the villagers " he began " the villagers are dying" I was taken aback by his words

" w..wh...what, dying, just like that, what is wrong with them, " I asked

" We don't know yet, my lady, some bodies have been taken to the clinic for investigation " he explained " so you have to remain in your room till we know it is safe, that he left, Ella quickly close the door behind him then came to stand very close to me

" My lady I'm so scared, dead bodies," she said but I was not interested in what she had to say, I keep thinking about the matter, why will the people be dying all of a sudden, I never read that in history books

" it's impossible, people can't be dying, just like that, something must have happened, " I said still thinking

" that is why they are investigating the matter " Ella reminded, and nodded. At that point, I remembered what Luna said, a lot more happened before that day '

" No, I can't just stay here," I said and looked at Ella like she already knew what I wanted to say

" No, No, No, we are not going," she said and went to sit on the bed and I raised an eyebrow, lost

" I didn't even say anything yet " I replied

" you are going to say, we should sneak into the clinic and find out what is going on" she replied and I smiled

" Wow, you know me, it's just like the movies where you read minds" she gave a confused look

" Mooovies" she said trying to comprehend the word, what is that

" you don't know movies" she shakes her head in response, that was when I remembered that, at this time movies did not exist " are you creating words again," she asked and I gave a silly smile

" yes," I lied " but ignore that, you have to help me " I pleaded

" No " she looked away, I went to sit next to her and held her hand

" oh please Ella, come on, this is important," I said

" leave it to the men " she replied " I can't get into trouble to the likes of you "

" you won't I promise, I would have gone alone but I know nothing about the castle and you have been shown around the castle, please" she ignored me and I thought of what to say to get her attention " what kind of queen will I be if I don't know what is happening to my people" she looked at me and smiled

" I know you only use that to get me and it is working" I smiled at her " fine," she said reluctantly " just hope we don't get into trouble"

Elle lead me to the clinic, we went in through the back. Hiding behind a shelf we needed to see the event, few soldiers were in the room, the bodies were covered with white clothes, Rowan's eyes were focused on the dead bodies and he didn't look happy, while the king spoke to the doctor who's assistant was standing behind

" how long will this take, " the king asked

" I can't tell, it's a strange disease and they all contacted it " the doctor explained

" All of them?" The king repeated

" yes sir, and I think it is through body contact, but I am not certain, I need to investigate further," he said

" then we shall not take any risk, on till we know what is going on, the gate should be closed, no goes out or come into the castle " he gave his orders

" what?" Rowan wasn't pleased

" I can't risk the lives of others" that he walked out along with Rowan behind him followed by the soldiers

I looked at Ella with an eyebrow raised" he can not just close the gate " I whispered and she shrugged in response

As walked back to my room we were interrupted by an argument coming from a distance, I followed the direction, Ella tried to stop me but I refused. I got to a point where I could listen then I realised that it was an argument between Rowan and his father

" but he is not certain that it is through body contact" Rowan sounded angry

" that is why I would not take any risk, just in case he is right " the king sounded angry as well

" so you are just going to abandon them because of a disease"

" A disease we know nothing about, and I am not going to abandon then, I am protecting the ones that I can"

" No, you mean the ones that are important to you" Rowan corrected " what a king you are "

" you know nothing about being a king " the king voice was louder and scary " as king, sometimes you have to make a decision that doesn't favour everyone and it takes a strong king to do so, and you are not that king, you are weak and sometimes I fear to leave Bengland in your hands " as he spoke I felt hurt, he went too far

" you are right, I am not that king, forgive me for not being the son you wanted " his tone was sad

" alright we have to go, " Ella said pulling me along

It was past midnight, I could not sleep, I keep thinking of the whole event, and I had questions that needed answers, what was happening to the people, how come I didn't read this in the history books, was this what happened before Rowan went missing, was this why he went missing, I sat up " I need to find out what is wrong with the people, maybe this is my mission, I whispered to myself " but how can I do that the gate is locked " thinking of how to get out, I knew it will be hard, I need help, strong help, even Ella could not help with this. Thinking for a while, I finally came up with something and I only hoped it will work

Standing in front of that familiar door Ella showed me, she said I needed to know if I wanted to seduce him I thought it wasn't necessary but now it was I needed his help if the gate was closed by the king, only the future king can help me out, I took a deep breath and knock at the door, I was answered by silent, then I knock again and almost lost balance when he replied " who is it "

" oh my god" I whispered, I didn't know it was that hard, I didn't reply I just knock again and almost immediately the door opened, revealing that perfect creation who was shocked to see me

" you?" He said and I swallowed hard and took a deep breath

" I need your help " he raised an eyebrow
