Chapter 25 ( Some French men )

ROWAN'S POV

Natalia was a fast learner, I was in shock, in less than 30 minutes she was riding the horse like an experienced rider and that was a bit challenging. She rode and stopped in front of me smiling" I want to go fast " she said taking me aback

" Pardon?" That was all I manage to say

" I said I want to go fast " she repeated. Was she crazy, it was her first time and she wanted to go fast

" you can't "

" why can't I " was she really asking that question

" you will hurt yourself, it's your first...." Before I finish my words she rolled her eyes and kicked the horse, taking off at high speed and I panicked " Fuck, Natalia!!!" I said out loud before realising my use of language " Natalia slow down" I called out to her but she ignored me and went on. She went around the field before coming back and all I did was hope she didn't fall. I felt the joy in her laugh as she reached me making me smile knowing I made her this happy

"That was a hell of a lot of fun," she said out loud as her horse came to a stop

" you are one crazy woman " she laughed at my words

" well, you learnt that today," she said

" and I also learnt that one should never say you can't do something"

Nodding her head " am glad we both learnt something today " she shrugged

" Alright, get down now "Knowing very well she could get down on her own I still reached out to her. With my hands on her waist, she placed her's on my shoulder and I brought her down, she was very light, it made me wonder if she eats at all. Our gaze met the moment her feet touch the ground and she smiled making me look down at her lips, her pink lips that I just wanted to kiss but I won't, she already made it clear that she was not interested in marrying me and I do not plan on forcing her, I liked her a lot and wanted her to like me too

" Thanks," she said in a calm and soft voice then pulled away and all I wanted to do was pull her back, I have known Natalia only for a few days, I don't understand why I was so drawn to her

"So " I began " Amelia's birthday is in three days "

" Really" I felt the excitement in her voice

" yes, and there will be a ball on that night "

" oh God, I can't wait, what will I get her, I don't have a gift yet, I have to think of something fast " she spoke quickly

" wait" cutting her off " you don't have to worry about a present, you coming you going to make her happy, she enjoys your company " Natalia nodded " I wanted to ask, will you..." We were cut off by the loud sounds of the bell coming from the castle

" What going on, " Natalia asked with worries in her tone

" They found something " I replied looking in the direction of the castle then back at her " we have to go back," I said and she nodded in response

Walking into the courtroom in a hurry, everyone was already present including Malisa's father. I wonder what he was still doing here but the ladies weren't here. I walked up to my father who obviously has been waiting for me

" where have you been?" He snapped the moment I reached him

" Forgive me, father " I immediately apologise for being late " what happ..." Before I got the chance to finish my question the Door opened behind me. I turned to get a better view and watch Colin walk in with seriousness in his tone and behind him followed four guards, dragging two French men along with them. As they reach us the French men were forced to kneel before us. I looked at them, they looked weak, very weak then I looked back at Colin

" We found them about to cross the border but no sign of the Gold " Colin spoke

My father to a step forward " where is your master" they remained quiet " I said where is your master"

" We do not know sir," one of them said, he sounded scared and he had a strong French accent

" you do not know?" My father repeated what he said in a confused tone

" yes, sir " the other replied "after prince Rowan escaped we moved out immediately with the Gold and camped in a new place. We woke up the next day we found the Boss and half of our crew were gone and they left with the Gold "

" they left just you two," I asked trying to make sense of what he said

" we and some other members"

" where are they now," I asked another question

" We went our separate ways because spreading was the easiest way to leave Bengland " My father remained quiet for a long time before he finally spoke

" lock them up, if they don't speak the truth in a week time, then they shall be executed " and my eyes fell wide open. They were other ways to deal with crimes than execution. I watch them drag the French men out " dismiss" he said out loud and everyone began to walkout

" father do we necessarily have to execute them, I mean they were just works"

" They are thieves " he corrected

" they were paid to, they were poor men who needed money and they has no choice"

" they stole from Bengland Rowan " Conrad, Malias's father also my uncle interrupts " that is an unforgivable crime. I say we execute them immediately and do a proper investigation on who is behind this "

" Pardon?" I was speechless

" Conrad is right," my father said agreeing with Conrad " we will take this investigation to France that will be immediately after Amelia's birthday"

" that is a very wise decision my lord " Conrad said and I frowned, all I wanted to do was to hit him on the face

" I will not rest until the person who dears to rob me is caught, " My father said angrily with so much power in his tone
