Natalia's POV

trying my best to keep up with Rowan but it was pointless, he was too fast. what was happening to the king I thought to myself, was it the poison already was he dead, but he can't die now that wasn't what happened. he died after the war.

I ran into the king's room and found Amelia, Malisa and her father, with Rowan already there. Amelia was already in tears, while Malisa didn't look like she cared, Rowan stood next to his father with his arms crossed trying his best to hold himself while the Doctor examined the king. the entire room was silent for an all-time when I spot Malisa's father leaving the room but I didn't care, after all, I had a bigger problem on my hand

the Doctor finally finished examining the king then stood up

" How is he, " Rowan asked

" he is weak, very weak, his heartbeat is slow," the Doctor said

" is dying, " Amelia asked

" am afraid, I can't tell if he..." Rowan cute him off

" yes he is," they all looked at him in shock " he was poisoned by a servant "

" what?" Amelia was in shock " how do you know this "

" I have her locked up right now," he said with seriousness and anger in his tone

" oh my God" Malisa, suddenly said " the king will die "

" he will not," Rowan said " you can save him can you " he looked at the Doctor who seemed unsure of his capacity

I ran out of the room following Rowan, it was hard to keep up with, he was angry, very angry I could feel it and a normal person will avoid him at this point but I kept following him

" Rowan" I called but he didn't answer " Rowan " I called again and he still didn't answer. I stop calling and keep following him till I realized where we were heading, I panicked " Rowan " this time I yelled

" What is it Natalia" my heart hurt when he yelled and the moment he saw the shock in me, he apologized " am sorry "

" what are you going to do?" I asked, scared of what is the reply is going to be

" Rowan, she is a poor girl that just wanted to save her sister, please don't hurt her," I said and watch as the anger in his eyes slowly disappeared

we both made our way down to the prison to the interrogation room and the moment I stepped in my heartbeat stopped due to the sight before me

" Oh God " Rowan said out loud. Mia's throat was slashed open, blood all over her dead body and the guard left in charge was also stabbed to death. just then that memory began to play in my head again, that memory that hunted me for her, my father breaking the bottle on her head and stabbing her with the glass, my mother's dead body On the ground, blood and glass all over the place. it kept playing and playing in my head and the one till I could hear was

" Natalia breathe " Rowan was telling me to breathe that was when I realized that I was running out of breath " breathe " I tried but it was pointless and the last thing I remember was Rowan carrying me and I went blank

" Natalia?" I heard a familiar voice call my name but I was distracted by the headache I was having

" fuck " I Whispered robing my head due to how much pain I was having and suddenly someone hit my hand " arch " I yelled in pain

" you wake up and the first thing that comes out of your mouth is Fuck?" the person scolded. slowly I managed to open my eyes and behold it was Emma sitting on the bed next to me, looking at me angrily and worried at the same time

" sorry " I rolled my eyes at her as I wondered why she was so worried

" are you alright?" did she seriously ask that, for fucking sake my head was banging

" No, I am not alright," I said to her, making her more worried

" you need more rest " she replied

" what happened?" I asked looking around trying to remember what happened to me, why my head hurt so much

" you fainted when you saw the dead prisoner and Rowan brought you," immediately I remembered everything

" the King how is he " I was about to get up but the headache threw me back into bed " God!" I yelled in pain

" you should rest some more, " Emma said " the king is fine, he woke up this morning"

"We got an Antidote, ?"

" No, but the Doctor was able to prepare something to slow down the poison. so the King is awake but still in bed " hearing does words I was a bit relief

" at least that is Good news"

" I sent a letter to your father " my heart skipped a beat

" what?" I almost panicked

" don't worry I only told him how you were doing, that the king was falling in love with you, I didn't tell him any other thing," she said calming me down

" I need to see him " I wanted to get up again but she pushed me back to lay down

Rowan's POV

standing by the window like I always did, looking at the night sky. there were no stars but a new moon was out, the sky was still beautiful. I thought to myself, what will Natalia say, will she call it sad or happy. I smiled as I wondered how she was doing. she must have had a flashback of her mother's death, just like the other day in the forest that was why she reacted like that.

a sudden knock on the door interrupted my thoughts " Come in " the door opened and the last person I wanted to see entered " Malisa?"

" Rowan " she called in a sweet tone and only irritated me

" what brings you here "

" I haven't seen you in a while that is why I came to know how you are doing "

" thank you for your concern " I gave a small smile that vanished almost immediately

" I know what you are going through" I raised an eyebrow at her, does she? " you have a lot on your hands now that the king is dying and you will be King soon, it is a huge step " I frowned, why was it so upset coming out of her mouth

" he will be ok," I said

" oh Rowan don't you see it, he is going to die the sooner you accept it the better," she said speaking the truth but it was only getting me upset

" I said he will be ok " I spoke using an authoritative tone that scared her a little. there was a sudden silence between us and I had to break it " I know that he is dying but he can't not when Bengland looks up to him "

" No you don't" I replied, speaking the truth, she didn't understand at all, all she was interested in was my power, becoming queen and nothing more
