Chapter 45

The old man indicated she should have a seat and Shay sat down on the opposite side of the cabin. The man seemed harmless enough but something about him told her he could be dangerous. His eyes were filled with wisdom and his poise was relaxed but fit. He was lean and did not carry any surplus weight. The robes that he wore hung on him as if they were too big and revealed his slim physique despite being bunched in areas making him look fatter than he was.

“Welcome. I hope you like my humble place lady. It is small but offers safety from the storms that blow across the land. There are many more to come, worse than the one we just had.”

“Thank you, sir. Your hospitality is most welcome.”

“You seek the man who passed this way yesterday lady Shay.”
