Dear diary, I woke up today with a headache. Staying over at grandpa's really exhausted me. On the other hand, Paul sleeps soundly like a baby. We are to leave for school in the next hour. Men!! Grandpa's story really was hilarious though, but then when you think about it, grandpa doesn't usually lie. Oh well, that's another problem for another day.
Paul: What are you doing?
Peter: It's none of your business (closing his diary)
Paul: Whatever, get in the shower will you
Peter: I am older, so don't tell me what to do
Paul: Fine then, I will go
Peter: Stop, I will go
Paul: Drama queen
Peter: What was that?
Paul: Nothing
Peter: It better be
The boys had their bath, ate breakfast and headed for school. Peter was in Ss2E while Paul was in Ss2J. When they got to school, they bumped into Rebecca and Ronda;
Ronda: Hey! Watch where you.... Oh, Its just you guys
Peter: Yeah it's just us cousin
Ronda: Second cousin, and just because we go to the same school doesn't mean you can just…..
Rebecca: (Interrupting) don't start sis
Paul: No, allow her finish her statement
Ronda: (Sighs) you know very well I don't like you both at all. So, it is better I leave before I say something rude. Come on sis, we have classes
Rebecca: Sorry about that you guys
Rebecca then hurried to meet up with Ronda. Rebecca was in Ss2A while Ronda was in Ss2B. Despite her attitude, Ronda topped all her classes with flying colors while Rebecca, although equally as good felt like she could never compete with her elder sister. Peter and Paul were equally brilliant when it comes to academic performance but Paul was obstinate. Just like his brother, he also topped his class but was always being reported to his parents for one mischief or the other. When Peter got to his class, he was surprised to see someone else seated on his seat; "I don't seem to recognize this face" he thought
Peter: Excuse me, but you are seating on my sit
Miles: Sorry, I had no idea
Miles then stood up and extended his hand to Peter;
Miles: Hi, I am Miles
Peter: Peter, nice to meet you
"He is taller than I thought and he is what you would describe as ebony" Peter thought.
Peter: You are new here aren't you?
Miles: Yeah, my family and I just moved into town a couple of days back. I have been home schooled all my life so I hardly have any friends (chuckling nervously)
Peter: Well lucky for you, I am friendly. So I will be your friend
Miles: I would love that
Just then, the teacher walked into the class and everyone greeted
Teacher: Have your seat everyone. I will like to introduce you all to our new student, Miles Hunter from another state. Miles, why don't you come out to the front of the class so that we can all see you while you introduce yourself
Miles came outside and introduced himself. After that he took his seat right next to Peter
Teacher: Now class where did we stop yesterday in In-organic Chemistry?
Peter: Halogens ma'am!
Teacher: Very good. Now, who can tell me what Halogens are? Anyone!
The teacher looked around and no one raised his/her hands except for Miles;
Teacher: Well then, Miles can you tell us what halogens are?
Miles: Halogens are group seven elements in the periodic table, commonly known as salt makers/formers which when reacted with a metal, forms a salt
Teacher: That was splendid. A round of applause
The whole class clapped while Miles took his seat
Peter: That was impressive
Miles: My Mom is a chemist so It wasn't that hard to pick up a few things (chuckling again)
Peter: Well whatever it is, I think you and I are going to get along just fine.
