The truth revealed

John: You all know how I told you about a land called Misty Mash and also about how my mother Bella met my father Jack right! Well that was only part one of the story. The other part is something I haven't told you yet. Upon my mother's dying breath, she had one of the nurses who had helped her put to labor promise to protect her newly born twins, that is I and James. The nurse gave her word and raised us like one of her own. Growing up, I never really bonded with James well. In fact you could say we were like enemies living in the same territory. But on our seventeenth birthday, or rather before our seventeenth birthday, we started experiencing symptoms like you guys are experiencing right now. Then on our seventeenth birthday, we were ambushed and taken to Mash. It was an arid land with little peace. Everywhere was a warzone. It turned out that our father, Jack was a king married to a queen before meeting our mother. So we were sort of royalty in the land of Mash because one of their main rules was "no matter what, the son of the king is the heir to the kingdom and must battle to victory if they want to assume the title of king" that is if they are more than one heir. After winning the match, the loosing heir was to become the personal assistant and guide to the winning heir. Then a tattoo will appear on his/her hand

Paul: You mean like the one on my hand right now

John: Yes Paul, like that

Peter: So what happened?

John: When we were brought to the arena, I thought I only had to fight James but to my greatest shock, we were three. It turned out, the queen had a son for our father before our mother and father ended their marriage with their previous family and tried to flee together. He was elegant, strong and well trained. He couldn't assume the throne because our father had us. It started to get intense. He attacked us with all he got and was very skilled with his weapon too. James and I, holding our sword defended ourselves. But then something strange suddenly happened; I realized I became very skilled with my sword, as if we were connected and we could understand each other's thoughts. I fought extremely well, defending James after putting our differences aside and decided that we work together. We then put our step brother down. That was when James's tattoo came out. The queen on the other hand was overthrown because her son had lost. It was then our duty to assume the throne and undo our mother's curse by uniting the land of Mash once more. After bidding our foster mum goodbye, James and I returned to the land of Mash. I became their king while James became my personal assistant and guide. He had knowledge of a lot of things and was able to see me through in uniting Mash. But it turned out, I failed

Rebecca: How so grandpa?

John: Thirty years later, while Mash was still under my uniting reign, something dreadful happened. By that time, I had gotten married to one of the maidens from another clan. She was from a rare bloodline of the Psychic. My situation was different; James and I were different from others because although we once lived in harmony, they were different people with different bloodlines (each with their clan). Usually, people pro-create with others in the same bloodline as them but Jack and Bella were the first to break that rule. Jack was from the swordsmen bloodline; a bloodline where they are swift and skilled sword fighters who were often given royal tittles and Bella was from the magic practicing bloodline, where they practiced sorcery and had vast knowledge of things. Titles often awarded to people of that bloodline are assistants to the swordsmen. So coincidentally, I and James assumed the positions we were meant to assume because my step brother and I were from the swordsmen bloodline while James was from our mother's bloodline. Also, people from the swordsmen bloodline usually give birth to twins making them new descendants of that bloodline

Peter: So it means you and Grandpa James were supposed to be from the same bloodline?

John: Yes Peter, but there is always a loophole to everything. My mother's genes seemed to be more dominant due to her magic and that is why James and I were separated and different in bloodlines making me inherit the swordsmen bloodline and James my mother's, thus making us the first two born in the same family with different bloodlines. Maya (Mia's mother) was from the psychic bloodline. And when we got married and gave birth to Mia, my gene of procreating twins failed because of Maya's bloodline rule. They never bore twins in that bloodline. But Mia was a special breed, even more special than us. She was a duo, meaning she possessed both the swordsmen and psychic bloodline

Miles: Really!!

Peter: Not just that, she was meant to be the next heir to the throne. She was one of the fiercest warriors ever known in Mash. But Mia was never interested in Royalty. She wanted to live a free life. She then met Tony who was also from my mother's bloodline

Paul: So what you are trying to say is my mum and dad are in on this too?

John: Yes Paul. I approved of their marriage and they gave birth to you two in Mash. But like I said, there is always a loophole. Mia lost her Psychic abilities after giving birth to you too. The magic associated with it was too much because your father was involved. Mia then had the privilege to continue my legacy by providing two heirs (twins)

Peter: So you mean us, grandpa?

John: Yes Peter, you and Paul

Ronda: So what about my dad? I mean I saw him too with a tattoo in one of his photos. And if Grandpa James doesn't have the swordsmen bloodline, how are we even twins?

John: James had gotten married even before I did. He met Lauren, who was just ordinary belonging from no bloodline and got married to her. When he gave birth to Bryan, he wasn't developing any signs that he belonged to any bloodline. Bryan then met Anna; the daughter to a friend of Lauren's who was also from no bloodline. Bryan never exhibited any bloodline traits until he was nineteen years old. It turn out that when he clocked nineteen, he inherited James trait automatically, almost magically and became my new assistant. That is when his tattoo came out

Rebecca: So grandpa James passed down his trait and lost them also in the process?

John: Yes he did. After Bryan met Anna fifteen years later, Bryan was determined to give up his traits too so that he and his family could live normal lives. He associated with a sorcerer to undo his traits

Peter: Did it work?

John: We thought it did, until Anna gave birth to twins. I did say before, there is always a loophole to everything. Maybe the fact that Ronda and Rebecca are twins comes from my father because no matter how dominant a gene is to another, the other gene will still be there only that it will be recessive. But it doesn't mean that it cannot be passed down and exhibited by future generations

Ronda: So how do you explain Rebecca kind of exhibiting psychic abilities?

John: I don't know why but I think it is an effect of Bryan trying to give up his trait using magic. Too much of magic can either make one lose all psychic abilities like your mum, Peter or give one psychic abilities like in this case, what you are experiencing Rebecca because being psychic is a unique and strong form of magic

Peter: What happened to our grandmothers? And why did we ever leave Mash if that is our birth home?

John: (This time looking sad) the worse happened.
