“My lord has been anxious all day,” Valvamoz stated, “he’s in his study, shall we go see him now?”

Amaryllis nodded, “I hope we won’t be disturbing anything important.”

“My lord finds you the most important my lady, you have nothing to worry about,” the demon grinned, he looked down at the boy, “he will be most pleased to meet you, young master.”

The boy snapped his head up to look at him then slightly shuffled to stand in his mother’s shadow as if trying to make himself disappear. Amaryllis sighed, she stopped and turned around then crouched down to look at her son dead in the eyes, “don’t be so rude Mal. There’s nothing to worry about.”

Mal opened his mouth to say something and then his lips moved, but he talked so quietly, Valvamoz could hardly hear him even with his advanced hearing, no wonder Amaryllis seemed to be having trouble making out what he was saying, or rather, whispering.
