Chapter 5

In the morning of the next day Bryan got up early only because Alice and Fabio had invaded his house and knocked him out of bed so he wouldn't miss the transformation class.

Professor Gabriel became aware of the barbarian invasion and asked the king to give the opportunity for the zody students to defend the kingdom, as for him the best way to learn was in practice.

As Prince Vander was a horse, he wasn't that good at personal defence against the monstrous bodies of barbarians, so Bryan's presence was indispensable as he was the best swordsman in the academy.

When the trio arrived, they received a long complaint from Gabriel, as he hated delays, but as always, Bryan was too lazy to even breathe, let alone walk into the forest.

-Well students, today you will transform to help the kingdom fight the southern barbarians. _explained looking at Jake and giving him an indifferent look. _Jake, please show your classmates how to transform quickly. _he requested.

Jake took a step forward and closed his eyes in concentration. In just three seconds a blue explosion flared in his body and when he lowered, everyone could contemplate the extraordinary transformation of the best and strongest animal in the zodiac.

There were black streaks across the blonde's slender body, his hair was orange and his eyes were deep blue, due to his Ice element.

There were huge claws on his hands, an orange tail, furry ears, large fangs and the Yin Yang on his forehead, representing the cosmic forces of the zodiac.

Everyone applauded the tiger and were excited for his transformations.

Alice was left with rounded ears, an adorable mustache on her cheeks, a smooth tail and her hair turned gray. Besides, she got rodent teeth and the yin yang on her forehead too.

Fábio got a red mohawk representing a rooster's comb, long and pointed nails, and feathers on his arms similar to a white coat. The yin yang symbol was below his left eye.

Rubius had rounded ears, brown hair and tail that was quite strong and he also had small fangs in his mouth. The symbol was on his neck, on the right side.

Lucas and Jennie had long, sharp fangs, scales on their faces and arms, bright green eyes, and talons that spewed venom. Her hair was in shades of blue and green, and it gleamed like snake scales. The symbol of both was on the right hand.

Mauro was the tallest and most muscular of the class, and after his transformation, he got even taller and stronger. It had huge, blackened horns on its head, a tail, and its calves and feet had become similar to bulls' legs, with powerful hooves and animal legs. The yin yang was in his neck on the left side.

Vander managed to transform faster than the last time, but still slower than the others.

Her hair turned huge and white, along with the pointed ears on her head. His tail was a little golden white and his eyes turned almost transparent blue, as he was an albino horse. His yin yang was on his forehead.

After everyone transformed, they received instructions on how to use their elements in times of crisis by Professor Marcia, who was a Sheep, and they were waiting for the moment when Professor Goyd would arrive to give military instructions.

Bryan was lying on a tree dozing, as he was the only one who didn't change and didn't need to listen to the teachers' instructions to become good at what he did.

When Professor Goyd arrived and saw his ancestors' sword lying on the ground while its new owner was sleeping in a tree, his rage reached its limit and he walked towards the brunette as if he had crushed his brain with every step.

He had chosen to hold a tournament and give the sword as a prize because he faithfully believed that Jake would win, but then that nobody came and managed to humiliate the future king and also steal the sword that was supposed to be his.

As much as the tiger was possessed of the element of ice, he might still be able to produce blue and icy calls if he achieved a deep affinity with the blade, just as his grandfather's friend did when he needed to fight other zodys without his own sword.

When Goyd got close to where Bryan was, he raised his hand and made an ice stake to attack the boy.

Was he crazy? Yes. But it was worth anything if it was to destroy that indefinite who lived stressing his life for not respecting him as a teacher and also for being always sleeping and not giving value to the things taught in the academy.

Jake felt Professor Goyd's attack energy, as well as Vander, Marcia and Gabriel, who shouted his name to stop him, making the other students worried about what was happening.

The stake was about to get close to Bryan when the sword of flames flashed and created a barrier around the boy.

The brunette opened his eyes and stared at the teacher. His eyes were cold as blades that shatter the soul of anyone who comes in contact with them.

Goyd gulped and realized that everyone was looking angrily at him that he had almost killed a student.

Bryan jumped to the ground and grabbed the sword that quickly dismantled the barrier.

-B-But how did this happen? The sword stopped responding to someone a long time ago! _Goyd exclaimed calling the attention of the other teachers.

-The spirit of the blade must have reacted to Bryan's soul. _Gabriel commented approaching the boy.

A barrier formed around him, causing everyone to be surprised by it, including Bryan himself.

-Try to calm the Bryan blade. _Gabriel asked looking at the sword. _I won't hurt you.

When the teacher said that, the barrier broke so that he could reach out and take the sword, causing him to shiver and let out a breath of air.

When he released the blade, a sweet smile played across his lips toward Bryan.

-The spirit of the blade has connected to your soul. Congratulations! _said giving the boy a brief hug.

Gabriel had never been ignorant to the dark-haired one and he never saw him with bad eyes either, but the influence of the other teachers made him not have the courage to accept the boy as a disciple, since there was no future in that.

-I want you to be my disciple, Bryan. What do you say? _questioned the boy.

-Well, if you are willing to teach an indefinite and without a future like me, then yes. _spoke seeing Vander flash him a disdainful smile.

-You are not without a future and a proof of this is that you are the best student in the kendo class and you were also able to awaken the spirit of this sword that was not reacting to anyone. _said putting his hand on the boy's shoulder and giving him some squeezes.

Jake growled and saw that everyone looked towards him, so he started coughing dryly to cover it up. Vander looked askance at him and snorted jealously.

-How did I manage to do this? _Bryan asked what he didn't want to shut up.

-Well, I'm not sure but I can say that it has nothing to do with the elemental skill of fire, it was something more like your value as a swordsman. _explained confused.

-Well students, let's leave all this behind since now the barbarians sounded their horns to start the battle. _Márcia announced.

-Yeah, I heard it too. _Gabriel spoke giving a confident smile to Bryan. _Proteja the prince and kill many barbarians. Show everyone that even without a defined animal you are still very good. _blinked.

Bryan just nodded and went to Vander's side, getting a face turn from the redhead and a disgusted look from the blonde.
