He used a set of tyres to heave the generator single handed out of the truck into its wrought iron housing which had a corrugated steel roof to cover it from effect of the rains. Once settled on the ground after he had pulled it off the crumbling pile of used tyres, he pushed the trolley into its sector. He made the necessary connections. He checked the oil again. Besides spilling slightly because of the heave and toss, it was full. He topped up on the fuel to full capacity before resting. He locked up. He never kept excess diesel and the generator within the same quarters.

He used his spare keys to enter the house. All the while he had been using a rechargeable torch. It was what he called a dark city. Their whole section of residential areas connected to Chiremba Road were in darkness. Load shedding was bitting hard.
