Chapter 17: LIGHT GUARDIAN

"You all look like your parents!" Then she hugged each one of them.

"Especially this boy… You look like your father when he is about your age!" Maria Maningning said while pinching both of Ian's cheeks.

"You met our father when he was a teenager?" Sarah asked.

"Yes! I'm also the reason why your mother and father met each other." Manining replied.

"We have many questions about our parents but we have a more important question to ask." Joy said in a serious voice.

"Ask me anything and I'll try to answer it with all of my knowledge." Manining replied to Joy.

"We are looking for the agimat, but the Libreta is not showing us any direction where we can find it." Joy.

"Do you know where it is?" Sarah asked.

"You mean the Libreta from Taalwan village? It will always show you where the agimat if it is far away… The reason why it's not working is that you already have it." Manining explained.

"You mean this?" Peach get the wind amulet from a special pouch and showed it to Maria Manigning.

"Not the Wind Amulet… I mean the Light Amulet." Manining pointed to Joy's necklace.

"My – my necklace is an Elemental Amulet?" Joy.

Instead of answering Joy's question, Maningning touched her necklace.

Then suddenly the necklace changes its shape into an Amulet with the symbol of Light.

"Do you know that your mother gave this to your father after he collected the fifth Talisman."

The siblings were still in shock, so Manining continues with what she was saying.

"The Light Talisman was also called 'Fairies Tears' because it was created from the tears of the most powerful diwata or fairy." Manining added.

"Do you mean that our father made our mother cry just to get the amulet?" Peach asked.

"Diwata's don't usually cry or I should say we never cry, and that is the challenge in getting the Light Amulet." She paused for a moment and smiles when she remembers a special memory.

"But your father was different, he made your mother cry with Tears of Joy. Your father always makes sure that your mother will feel happy and loved every day that they were together." Manining said holding Joy's hand and giving her back the Light Amulet.

"As the new Light Guardian, you must protect all Humans and Elementalians with your pure and kind heart." Manining said to Joy.

"What made you say that Ate Joy is the new Light Guardian?" Sarah asked.

"When you arrive in Elementalia, you were already tested. Your kindness and wanting to help others prove to us that you deserve our blessings." Manining opens her arms to Joy and chants.

"SA NGALAN NG MGA DIWATA AT LAHAT NG NILALANG NG ELEMENTALIA. AKING IPINAGKAKALOOB SAYO ANG KAPANGYARIHAN NG NAKASISILAW NA LIWANAG!" Joy floats in the air and the light from the Light Amulet slowly envelopes her then she transformed into the Light Guardian.

"WOW!" Ian.

"Congratulations Ate Joy!" Sarah.

"We both have beautiful costumes now, Ate Joy! You look amazing!" Peach.

"Thank you!" Joy said to her siblings then she faces Maningning.

"Maraming Salamat Diwatang Maningning… But, I don't know how to use my new powers." Joy said.

"Don't worry Joy! She can teach you everything you should know… After all, she also teaches your parents before." Roe said.

The first thing that Maningning teaches to Joy is, how to summon her weapons.

"Use your imagination. Think of a weapon that you are familiar with or much better if you already know how to use it." Maningning explained.

"A weapon that I know?" Joy whispered to herself.

"Then once the Light symbol glows, put your hand inside and think of it as a container of your weapons and once you take your hand out you will be holding your new weapon." Maningning added.

Joy did what Maria Maningning told her.

A big red heavy shield with a kampilan sword was taken out from the light on Joy's armor.

"This – this is our father's weapon!" Joy was surprised to see his father's weapon in front of her.

"It looks the same as what your father used to have before, but this is a lot heavier!" Maningning added.

Even though Joy has super strength, she was still having a hard time lifting her new weapons.

"W – why? Why are these so heavy!?" Joy asked.

"Only you can figure it out…" Maningning replied.

Joy also tried summoning other types of weapons but only her father's sword and shield appear.

"I know you can figure it out soon… But for now, let me just teach you how to fight using sword and shield." Maningning said, she uses her power and make different weapons to appear around the tree then she gave the sword and shield to Joy.

"All of you can join us in training!" Maningning also called Joy's siblings and started their training.

They spend the whole week in training but Joy still can't figure out why she was not able to use her weapon.

"Remember, your father gave you the amulet because he believes that you can be a Great Light Guardian." Maningning said to Joy.

"Thank you so much, Maria Maningning!" The sibling's bid farewell to the Diwata and they return to the human world.

"Welcome back!... Would you tell me what happened while you were in Elementalia?" Their mother Mina asked.

"We met Maria Maningning!" Sarah replied excitedly.

"She was so amazing! She teaches us how to fight using different weapons and Ate Joy is now the Light Guardian!" Peach told her mother while acting how to hold the weapons.

"Wow, congratulations Joy! You finally became the Light Guardian. I'm sure your father was so proud of you wherever he is." Mina said while holding Joy's face.

"Thank you so much, mother. Maria Manining also asked us to let you know that she is fine and she misses you so much!" Joy said.

"I miss her too!... How I wish, I could go back to Elementalia and see her again. I also want to see my mother and father to tell them that I love and miss them so much." Mina's tears almost fell when the triplets hugged her.

"Don't worry Mama. We will break the curse on you so you can go back to Elementalia again."

Peach said while Joy pulled Ian's hand to make him join them in hugging their mother.

"Oh! You are all so sweet! Thank you so much!" Mina said with teary eyes.
