Jazmine's POV
I stepped into the building my gaze immediately greeting her, a smile on my face as I walked over to the table she was seated at.
"I'm surprised you asked me out" I pointed out smiling as she motioned for me to sit and I complied sitting down facing her.
"Do you want to order something to drink?" she asked
"I don't drink coffee" I confessed
"So why did you agree to meet here?" she asked laughing slightly.
"Because I wanted to see you, and since you're on your lunch break I assumed you needed the caffeine" I explained and she smiled, she was about to reply when her phone started ringing cutting her off, I sat there patiently waiting for her to finish her call.
"I'm sorry but I have to leave, it was work an-"
"It's completely fine," I told her understanding completely, even though I was slightly disappointed.
"Are you sure?" She asked
"Yeah, I'm sure, why don't I walk you back?" I offered and she nodded getting up as I did the same.
"I'll pay," she said resulting in my hand retreating from my jacket pocket. We walked out of the cafe side by side, a permanent dumb smile on my face.
"How long have you been working at the hospital?" I asked her curiously since my brother was trying to convince me to buy the place to stop it from closing.
"A few weeks, I got transferred recently" She answered and I nodded, my hands diving into my pockets as we continued our journey back to her workplace.
"Do you enjoy working there?"
"I do"
"How many patients do yo-"
"Okay, why are you interrogating me Jazmine?" She asked amused and I bit my lip, loving the way my name sounded leaving her mouth.
"I'm just trying to start a conversation" I lied laughing slightly.
"Okay" She replied, her tone making it clear she didn't believe me.
"So can I start a conversation based on what you do for a living?" She asked and I nodded silently telling her to go ahead.
"I work in real estate, but I think I mentioned that before" I reminded.
"You did" She replied smiling as I removed my right hand from my pocket placing it at the small of her back as we made our way across the street.
"Okay, Ms. Johnson w-"
"Ms. Johnson?" I asked interrupting her question liking the title my eyes running over her, making her laugh.
"Are you serious?"
"What?" I asked, removing my telling gaze from her looking before us.
"Nothing" She replied and I smiled as we moved to the entrance of the hospital.
"You'll call me?" I asked smiling and she returned one.
"I'll call you"
"You promise?" I asked and she laughed slightly.
"I promise"
"Ok" I replied
"Ok" She repeated amused turning around walking away, I stood there watching as she left, her aura compelling. I smiled checking the time before moving back to the Cafe knowing my car was parked at the entrance.
