"It's you" She announced softly

"So I did do something?" I asked thinking back, trying to figure out what exactly.

"You're doing everything right" She confessed leaving realization to stand in my mind.

"And that scares you?" I asked but it sounded more like a statement, nonetheless, she still gave me a small nod to confirm my words.

"What's your fear when it comes to us?" I asked softly.

"That you'll hurt me, lie, cheat, change" She replied her voice small and I could tell each word she said held a memory.

"I won't, and I know that's hard for you to believe because of past experiences but I'll prove it, we can move at whatever pace you want to,"

Riptide

I moved my hand to the right slightly watering the neighbouring plants, the smell of the food Britt was preparing making its way outside seducing my sleeping hunger. She didn’t have to be at work until eight tonight and with Aria at school, we practically had the entire day to ourselves which I was extremely grateful for since alone time between us was very rare these days. 


A small part of me was also left frustrated since I didn’t get much sleep last night with the newly found knowledge of Devin being responsible for the cause of missing children in the neighbourhood staying present on my mind the entire time. 


A small yawn left me as the sun continued to sit on my skin gently pulling sweat from my pores and I briefly thought about turning the mouth of the hose to face me in hopes of cooling my heated body.
