Chapter 11

I sat, face down staring holes into the light blue carpet as the Luna paced around me mumbling to herself. I was terrified of looking at her, scared that I would be yelled at next. She stopped in front of me as I stared at her expensive-looking silver heels as she cleared her throat. I held my breath as I looked up to see her serious gaze staring back at me. I felt a small amount of relief that she no longer seemed angry but her words still cut through me like a knife.

“What the hell were you thinking?” I quickly looked back down unsure of what exactly she was referring to but still feeling shameful.

“Laura.” She sighed disappointed, pausing for a moment before bending down to lift my head back up so our eyes connected.
