Update: I ended this story because there were absolutely batshit crazy people who were taking offence for no fucking reason. The main character drinks ... "oh my god author you fucking asshole." Main character believes in separation of church and state..."oh my god author you fucking asshole." Fucking hell. You're on a Chinese website reading stories in English probably jacking off to hentai and you're hypocritically flogging your culture and religion. Fuck you. You're what's wrong with this world.

Saddam Hussein was a cold-blooded, iron-fisted ruler of a Middle Eastern nation...Iraq.
After watching HBO's House of Saddam, I was inspired to write a transmigration story where the narrator becomes Saddam.
But instead of vainglorious and destructive wars and policies, instead of sadistic children, New Saddam tries to build a new Iraq which is liberal and developed.
Warnings: Saddam Hussein and his family weren't nice people. This isn't an attempt to rewrite them as sympathetic characters. The narrator references the crap people of that era pulled regularly. The MC is focused on kingdom building so any good things come out of his intentions not from Saddam.
Treat this story as trashy, no-brain fiction and just enjoy it. There's no intellectual purpose behind it.
The author is a radical leftist who is close to making lgbt parades in Baghdad to make himself look good to the American leftist media. Read this story if you want to see the fantasy of a westernized Iraqi who thinks that by magic Iraq can become some kind of western country.
For now it is not bad you can try to be shameless to destabilize the countries around and push the pro Arab unity party to unite the MO. You should make a birth policy to make sure you have the biggest population possible I think that an Iraq without war can become a very populated country if the state helps families to make more children.
first of all, an incredibly petty author, publicly trying to "humiliate" a troll that left a negative review critizism the whole premise of the novel and how it makes no sense, then goes on to browse his profile looking for a coment he can use to critize him more, if a hater is really get to you like that then youre not fit to be an author, plus you suck at roasting people also go ahead and delete this or try to publicly "shame" me to your 5 readers idg af
Will you participate in the Israel-Lebanon war? Do you have a plan to annex Kuwait, Syria (with Syria you can use the resentment of the Sunni majority), and Iran ?
Dude why are you forcing alcohol in every scene and making it a common occurrence. Islam strictly prohibits alcohol. I am not saying people don't drink it, specially the upper class, but the whole fiasco is done secretly hidden from the public eye. What he is (Saddam) spreading is not "Liberal" or "Modern" Islam. You can't just choose to follow some rules and discard others.
I don't understand why in the last chapter you don't want to annex Iran or at least the Arab and Sunni region of Iran. When you are going to take Kuwait I am sure that the Americans will support you as in reality

Really fun alternate history take, its a shame it ended so soon, but was definitely a great read and I look forward to more from this author. Well informed while having real deviation from our timeline which, while less realistic, is much more enjoyable and doesnt detract from the story
My last review disappeared why is that? Anyways theres not much to say, i've always like Alternate-History books and this is one of em. With a certainly safe and fun place that is the middle east as it's setting which i've never seen before, making this story unique and interesting. Keep up the good work mr author!
Besides a few grammar errors this story should be very enjoyable for fans of Iraqi and alternative history I am not too far into it but from what I gather alternative Saddam plans on making Iraq into a prosperous and actually stable state which should be very fun to see happen
a novel with a interesting concept that is well executed. and fun to read. my only problem is that the chapters are not as long as I would like them to be.

First, I would like to say I'm not a huge fan of alternative history stories, that being said I have thoroughly enjoyed yours thus far. I started reading this ff yesterday and I could not stop, I enjoyed it so much that I put off one of my major school's projects just to read this. Not only does this ff give us the perspective of the main character, but it also gives us insight into how his actions have affected Iraq through the perspective of different characters living in Iraq. You can clearly tell that the author has done his research on not only Saddam Hussein, but the problems that were plaguing Iraq at that time as well. Additionally, the main character actually uses his knowledge of the future in various ways that benefit himself, and Iraq. Overall I would like to say thank you to the author for making this brilliant story, and that I am very excited to continue reading.
good stuff i love this kind of novels[img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update]
