Salacity.

Vincent raised an arm towards the heavens and stretched one of his fingers.

Violet shimmering light coiled across his arm and reached the edge of his fingertip.

Then...

Snap! A bright flash of violet light flared from within.

The creatures of the deep surrounding them turned stiff and bumped into each other. They all looked about in bewilderment before scurrying away into the distant depths. The surface of the river turned calm once more.

“Good riddance,” Vincent said. “Now we can have some peace and quiet.”

“They were somewhat cute though,” Shyreiana said.

“Cute?” Vincent teased. “But I was sure you were going to eat them all if they stayed a bit longer.”

“You already guessed?!” she said in embarrassment. “I was feeling a bit hungry.”

Vincent picked her up in his arms and walked towards the foot of the waterfall, “Let’s have a bath first.”
