'The Primes'

With James leading the way, the small group exited the large room and were in the corridors the facility once more. Following an arrangement where Jenny could be at centre with James leading the pack, Layna and Rye on either side of her and finally Bane following from the behind like she was a dangerous criminal under escort. This was all to see the strangers to her. The seemingly important people. The Primes.

Steps. Brisk steps, hitting the cold cement floor of the corridor they were walking on and leaving eerie echos. Giving off an ominous feeling to them all. Their bodies were stiff as planks, filled with tension. Jenny looked at James, who seemed the most tense of them all, his fists tightly clenched in an emotion that Jenny could not decipher. Was it hatred? Guilt? Anger? or regret? But towards whom? Jenny was lost for what to think. Turning to Layna then Rye, she saw them with temperaments similar to that of James. However, like a strong mist being blown by small gusts of wind, her anger wavered only slightly at this sight, enough to make her wonder; What was really going on?

"May as well find out," she muttered softly to herself. She stopped in her tracks, causing the two at her side to be stunned and Bane who was behind her to crash into her. It seemed that he had been walking mechanically, trapped in his thoughts. Hearing the slight commotion James quickly turned around, alert.

"What's wrong?" James questioned alertly as he looked at Jenny.

"Two things." Jenny stated without a trace of fear. "What's wrong with you people, I thought you were all okay with the arrangement made by your superiors?" Jenny paused meaningfully, looking at Layna, then locking eyes with James," But before you answer that...please-please promise me that they will be safe." For some reason she still felt like James wasn't that bad, that's why she directed the request towards him. James paused, then nodded without breaking eye contact with Jenny.

Looking down, away from Jenny, Layna's soft voice whispered lowly as if afraid the walls could hear," W..we helped them...all of us. Intentionally or unintentionally... that's up to you to decide." Jenny was stunned. Just a few minutes ago, Layna was taunting her, what happened? She looked at Rye who was looking at a corner above her, opposite to the direction Layna had turned so as to whisper her message.

A small red blinking light, barely noticeable to the normal human eye. They were being watched! It dawned on her.No wonder, Layna whispered but that still did not answer her question. Opening her lips to say just that, she felt herself being pushed roughly from behind. Bane! She turned around venomously but seeing no emotion on his face, she was stunned once more.Facing forward, she saw James had already turned around and continued walking ahead with Layna and Rye moving forward. Bane prodded her once more from behind whilst grunting that she should continue walking.

Jenny didn't speak again but compliantly followed since she did't know what was really happening, she had decided to be patient and see how things would transpire. They continued walking in the uncomfortable silence, turning multiple corners which made her loose track of her bearings. Finally they arrived. Before them were large, metal double doors with guards in-front of them. Upon seeing James and Bane, they saluted him and the doors slid open.

Walking into the room, which was definitely larger than the previous one, Jenny noticed that only a certain part of the room was well lit. In that illuminated space there were five seats lined up in a curve. Three were filled by two women and one man but two remained empty at the either end. These were either the leaders or the investigators. However in the darker space Jenny was able to distinguish a small group of shadowy figures, whose faces were obscured by darkness, seated comfortably in the darkness. She could not understand their purpose.

James continued walking, leading Jenny to the focal point of the illuminated space, making her the centre of attention but she was not daunted by this. Layna and Rye stopped moving, signalling her to also stop moving, then they moved to the darkness. James and Bane continued walking forward, stood before the empty chairs, paused for a few seconds, then sat down simultaneously. Jenny was now very interested, were these two part of the leading faction or interrogation faction?

How comes they seamed so guilty and uncertain on their way to this location?

Before any more questions could pop into her mind, one of the women spoke. She had dangerous scarlet hair which made her stand out from the five sitting before Jenny," Welcome child, we are 'The Primes'."Jenny said nothing, so they remained in an uncomfortable silence for some seconds but it was broken by another feminine voice, but this time it was filled with harshness," We're not here to stare at you, child. Tell all of us the information that you relayed to James, Banes, and the other two.

Jenny looked from James to Bane, they had obviously told them everything she said, but they want her to repeat it? It seamed that she was either being tested or James and Bane, the ones who got the information from her, who were the ones being tested. Deciding to forgo any drama, Jenny complied and told passed on the information once more, omitting the solutions. Upon finishing the task, Jenny noticed that none of the five sitting before her showed any trace of shock, they had obviously heard this information before.

The final woman spoke, she had a voice that gave off a sagely feeling," So you were forsaken by they world after your parents died. that's very tragic." She said without a trace of sympathy," However, you need to tell us how we can survive."

Jenny tilted her head and spoke unreservedly," You, me, and the whole of humanity have only two choice; find the planetary holder who holds this world together or we all escape."

Angry murmurs filled the room what was this child saying, everyone knew that both of this tasks were near impossible. How were they supposed to survive on odds?!
