Something's wrong pt.1

Going around the house lower floor, checking through every room there wasn't much to do, since most of it seemed to be empty. He found a total of 17 goons hiding as he casually killed them without breaking a sweat.

This was what he meant by this mission being a breeze, these goons couldn't match his skill set. The only reason he was a bit tensed was because of the assassins, who he had confirmed with Cipher.

She had told him, that they were high level ones but he had yet to see something that would indicate so. There wasn't even a single trap in this huge mansion, which every good assassin should know how to do.

Walking out of the final room, he walked towards the corridor to head upstairs. He wondered to himself, if it was a relive that they were amateurs or be sad that he couldn't go out with a gun blazing glory he had expected to go through.

Then all of a sudden someone jumped in front of his vision, kicking the gun away from his hand and kicking him back.

Blocking the attack with ease, Bruce slid back. With his senses in an all-time high, he swiftly dodged the sword that was aimed straight for his neck by another assassin from the back.

Surrounded by two assassins in a congested space wasn't the most ideal place you wanted to be in, "Hey! Who brings a sword to a gunfight?"

The men didn't say anything as one of them leaped from the front clearing wanting a fair fight while the next one behind him charged at him with his katana.

Bruce activated his skill completely as he could feel the mana coursing through his veins. Bruce's strength wasn't something to scoff at, in general. Mix that with the right amount of agility, his regular fighting skill was still top-notch.

With the system requiring him to learn the basis of his fights completely by himself, the fighting techniques were etched into his being as of now. So even without activating his skill, he would do just fine.

But the difference, that activating the skill bought was just something completely different. Sure a dull blade could still kill, but a sharper one would do the job in just a single slice. And that was the difference on when he was using his skill or not.

Using his skill was a guarantee that his attack will land, things like fatigue or slowing down was not a thing he would be worried about. And with his mana regeneration rate, he could likely go on forever.

Bruce swiftly dodged the punch heading his way, as with a little dash he got behind the fighter and pushed him back towards the guy with the sword with a back kick that had enough force to throw both of them off balance.

A knife appeared in his hands, as without waiting for the two to recover he threw it with precision aiming for the head.

The fighter likely with his instinct barely dodged the knife by a centimeter, as the knife dug right into the swordsman's face. A loud groan left the swordsman as the knife he had thrown was stuck within his left eye down to his cheek.

The fighter somersaulted his way towards him throwing a kick to Bruce's stomach, which he easily grabbed, Bruce twisted his body launching a kick to his inner thigh, demobilizing him in an instant.

The man was trying his best to crawl out of the situation, but unfortunately for him, Bruce wasn't about to play the fair game, as he two shots of bullets through his head.

"Fairness was out the window when it became a two versus one show, so you only have yourself to blame!" Bruce said shrugging as his face clearly indicated that he didn't couldn't care less, "But you guys really don't talk much at all, huh."

Bruce turned to the swordsman who somehow was still alive and was giving his final best swing, which Bruce blocked with his gun.

Looking at the rifle that was nearly sliced in half, Bruce's lips couldn't help but twitch as he bought out his pistol shooting the swordsman and relieving him of his misery.

Bruce walked over to the swordsman observing his body as he couldn't help but frown. These assassins weren't high level as he was told, in fact, they were barely above mediocre.

Slightly better than a common goon due to their discipline and highly better combat technique but nothing extraordinary.

Secondly, these assassins were all of the Asian descent, and opening their mouth Bruce could see that the assassin's tongue had been cut off. It wasn't a fresh wound so clearly it was done quite a long time ago.

Bruce walked over to the fighter and it was the same with him, cut-off tongue and Asian. He had never heard of an all-Asian gang before with such rituals but maybe they weren't from here.

And third, information about John Wick wasn't hard to find, but here they were with knives and swords, that guy wasn't even carrying a weapon. Not to disrespect the fighting style but against guns, it would take someone with the supernatural or extremely potent ability for even a possibility to win.

And that too against a highly trained and experienced assassin like John. But these guys for certain weren't the special kind.

'I thought the whole reason, Viggo sent his son instead of coming here by himself was to handle John back from New York and send his son away to protect him,' Bruce thought to himself, 'Sure his death is imminent but Viggo would likely at least try to protect his only son, but was he fooled with these second rate assassins? or did he not care about his son anymore?'

Both of them seem unlikely as Viggo had been in the business before he was even born and not to care about his son wouldn't make sense, since he wants the mysterious hard drive that seems to be very useful. So he wouldn't sacrifice his son even if it was just for the hard drive. Even Cipher had told him before that these assassins were high-level.

Bruce could feel something was wrong, but he couldn't point out exactly what it was. But one thing was clear, he needed to finish this as soon as possible.

Bruce looked over at the katana that sliced his rifle nearly in half, "I mean, you did broke my rifle, so a weapon for a weapon should do."

Bruce took the katana observing it briefly before putting it away in his inventory and taking out a new rifle.

Bruce could tell from a single look at the undamaged katana, that it was likely of a higher quality but Bruce wasn't used to swords as much as he was with other weapons.

In a tactical situation, guns were an assassin's best friend especially for someone like him and John who were trained for that. It was also the same reason why his sword mastery skill was still in the intermediate class, as he didn't use it more than for some training.

Knife and guns were enough for him, but he wouldn't say no to a good weapon when it was right below his feet.
